Visited this past Sunday as we stayed in Bloomfield House Hotel literally next door. House & land is managed by county council. Not sure I'd agree the €8 pp is worth a visit to the house, shorty tour is self guided and not many rooms with furnishings. However the upkeep has to be expensive of these historic homes. The woodlands are beautiful for leisurely walks, suitable for everyone including dogs & babes in prams. Adjacent coffee shop could be better.

Belvedere is fantastic! It's quiet and peaceful, and incredibly scenic. There is no better way to spend a few hours than walking along the lake shore, strolling through the woods, and looking at some of the weird and wonderful creations. The walled garden and fairy gardens are as tranquil as you can get, with the house and other buildings bring you back to a bygone era. If travelling to Mullingar, it's well worth a trip!!

I would have given it five stars only for the café in the place, which unfortunately one has no option but to walk through in order to get to the park. It is called CaToCa and it is horrendous! Between it's the useless staff or the filthy state they have the place, avoid it! When visiting the gardens and if you fancy a tea or cake afterwards, take a spin up to the nearby Bloomfield House Hotel.

Beautiful walks with splendid views of the lake. Playgrounds for children. Nice family friendly comfortable cafe serves tasty lunches and snacks. Admission fee €8 per adult a little bit expensive for off peak season. I would imagine it would be better to visit later in the season when gardens are in bloom.

A fantastic day out. Beautiful grounds in a serene lakeside setting. Woodland walkways interspersed with picnic areas and childrens' play areas. A tour of the house itself is optional. There is even a doggie creche. There is also a visitor's centre, shop and fabulous restaurant (which can be busy in summer especially when the weather is nice) and large groups can be accommodated.
