“Fantastic Amenity - But AVOID the Café!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 February 2017

Belvedere is fantastic! It's quiet and peaceful, and incredibly scenic. There is no better way to spend a few hours than walking along the lake shore, strolling through the woods, and looking at some of the weird and wonderful creations. The walled garden and fairy gardens are as tranquil as you can get, with the house and other buildings bring you back to a bygone era. If travelling to Mullingar, it's well worth a trip!!

I would have given it five stars only for the café in the place, which unfortunately one has no option but to walk through in order to get to the park. It is called CaToCa and it is horrendous! Between it's the useless staff or the filthy state they have the place, avoid it! When visiting the gardens and if you fancy a tea or cake afterwards, take a spin up to the nearby Bloomfield House Hotel.

“Truly worth a visit if your visit Mullingar or surrounding area. Admission”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 February 2017

Beautiful walks with splendid views of the lake. Playgrounds for children. Nice family friendly comfortable cafe serves tasty lunches and snacks. Admission fee €8 per adult a little bit expensive for off peak season. I would imagine it would be better to visit later in the season when gardens are in bloom.

“Belvedere House and Gardens”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 February 2017 via mobile

A fantastic day out. Beautiful grounds in a serene lakeside setting. Woodland walkways interspersed with picnic areas and childrens' play areas. A tour of the house itself is optional. There is even a doggie creche. There is also a visitor's centre, shop and fabulous restaurant (which can be busy in summer especially when the weather is nice) and large groups can be accommodated.

“Magnificent walks”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 February 2017

Belvedere house and gardens are a lovely day out for all, from informative displays and signs to a beautiful courtyard and mouth watering food. A lovely walled garden with secluded benches for a quiet seating area, please note the walled garden is on a slight slope with a few steps but a path circumventing the garden is wheelchair accessible.

There are a number of walks of varying length around Belvedere house, terrific views of the lake can be seen from the terraces, not really wheelchair friendly ,
