Beautiful seating area in the garden. We were lucky to be able to ear a late lunch there in glorious sunshine. Chowder was delicious, chicken curry was lacking punch & desert of fruit tartlet was mouthwatering. My only issue would be the disorganised waiting staff. Called in earlier that morning to make a reservation. One other person at the counter waiting to pay, 3 or 4 young staff behind the counter milling around making coffe & totally ignoring people. Eventually an older lady appeared, took payment & made bookings. By then there were 4 other people behind me. Possibly seasonal staff but given the prices being charged I expected better.

We stopped in here today for dinner. Service was prompt and efficient. The garden seating looked fabulous but we sat indoors as we had small children with us. We all opted for the roast beef which was delicious and there was plenty of it. We even opted for extra potatoes as they were beautiful. One of the bowls of veg was slightly dried out looking but the other was perfectly al dente. Desserts were fabulous and the girls really couldn’t have been more helpful. We would definitely return here if we were to visit Ardmore again. Toilets were spotless also.

Had booked lunch at the nearby Cliff House Hotel with my sister in law home from the US on hols. We stopped off first for a walk in Ardmore village and having viewed the desserts on display at Whitehorses we intended to have dessert there. However, at 4.20pm a rather discourteous manager refused to serve us on the basis that she was “closing” to prepare for the 6pm meal even though the restaurant was heaving with some only being served starters. I explained we just wanted a very quick coffee and one of her desserts which were all laid out in plates in front of us but she was unwavering and exceptionally ungallant. I was more hurt by the manner in which we were refused than the actual refusal. I rarely write a negative review on Trip Advisor but this left such a bitter taste that it’s merited on this occasion. Next visit we will have all our meal at the Cliff House.

We had a very very tasty dinner recently at Whitehorses. Ordered Sole and it was just 'melted in my mouth' , served with a very generous portion of mixed vegetables which where just cooked perfectly and lovely floury potatoes. Food was piping hot and came straight from kitchen to the table. We were given a very generous plate of homemade brown bread while we waited on our meal. Waiting time was around 40-50 mins but restaurant was busy and we hadn't ordered a starter (which we were glad about because portion size of main course was very very generous). Every bite of food was delicious.
