What a wonderful experience for visitors to experience the hardship, friendship and way of life endured by the people who who lived and worked here. Brilliant guided tour by a former employee who gave his real life experiences to add to the experience. Booked in advance as tour limited to 6 people, very safe and socially distanced with excellent Covid restrictions in place. Would highly recommend.

Argina cave is a little of the beaten track but so worth a visit. Very attentive to covid safety. We were given hairnets to put under our hard hats and asked to stay in our pods (we came in a group of 6 so we stayed together). It was very informative and only made better by Gerry who was very knowledgeable and offered his own personal experiences of working in the mine. The tour was €10 and lasted around 30 minutes. Just around the corner from Lough Key, great trip.

Drove up to see this not expecting much but I thoroughly enjoyed it. Our tour guide was Michael (ex miner) who was but it looked nice and the views are incredible.
