The people working here are locals who want to share their experiences of their life in a mining community. Gerry, our tour guide, worked in the mine and so could share 1st hand his experience. The whole experience felt comfortable including the handmade food and cakes in the cafe. The views from the car park with it's convenient picnic tables were perfect for enjoying the cakes. We learnt a lot about the hard work that went on in the mine and it was an excellent experience.

Our guide Gerry was the highlight of our tour, witty and knowledgeable. He really made us feel like we were there in the mine shovelling coal. Those guys worked in terrible conditions and he makes it seem like it was a picnic. It's quite chilly down in the mine, so bring a jacket.

Good value for money. Tour lasted about 45mins. Gerry our tour guide was an ex-miner, he was friendly and very informative. Was a little bit cold so bring an extra layer.

We really enjoyed this tour. Our guide Gerry worked in the mines, therefore he was able to give a great first -hand account of life as a miner. We would highly recommend this. Giving Arignas close proximity to Carrick-on-shannon with lots of attractions for all ages, The Arigna Minig Experience is a must do.
