It has classical local menu - no suprises. But food was better than in usual coubtryside restaurants. I asked for medium minus meat and I got it. Also souce was very good.

The hotel was under going renovations while we were there but that didn't interfere with our stay in the least. Our room was bright and airy and spotlessly clean. There is a lovely lounge area with comfy chairs and sofas where you can sit back and enjoy a drink. The leisure facilities were also very good with a well equipped gym and good sized swimming pool.

We stayed in the Hotel for one night, one room was forgotten from the hotel, so we had to waited quite long. The room was ok, but not what you expect from a 4 star hotel. We had dinner in the hotelrestaurant. We ordered the food ( steak, salomn ,surf'n turf ,all together 5dishes), the food didn't came at the same time ... When the last plate came , the first one was already nearly cold. I had a steak and ordered it medium-rare, it was well-done... My dad had surf'n turf he ordered it medium and it was also welldone, he told the server that and he got a new one , it was well-done again , the third time them was ok. But I have to say none of the steaks was as we had ordered it. The waiter was friendly, was not 4 star able. We had a half bottle wine but it was disgusting. The waitress in the bar wrote our order on her hand, that's not fourstar, I am sorry. To be honest , it was ok for one night, but far away from 4star class. Very disappointed for this money you expect lots more.

The food in the abbey is spot on. Really high quality and a reasonable price. Portions sizes are plenty. The chicken bites and fish and chips were so tasty. Will be trying the burger on my next visit. Staff were very prompt. The decor in the rooms slight old fashioned, the double beds were not big enough for two I ended up in one of the single beds but the beds were comfortable. Air con was very noisy but left it on all day with the window open then could turn it off At night time and had a very good night sleep on the remaining nights. Would stay again
