“Haven of tranquility”
Reviewed 11 April 2012

We recently stayed at Beaufort house and will definitely be returning...and recommending to our friends.
The house was spotlessly clean and tastefully decorated, the hosts most welcoming and attentive and the food easily surpassed our expectations. Set in a beautiful location Beaufort offers a true haven of tranquility.

My girlfriend and I stayed for one night over St Patrick's Weekend. We had a group of friends in self catering house around the corner and it was a pleasure to retreat and relax in the Beaufort House. It had everything you want from a top B&B, genuine friendly hosts, a comfortable clean room, beautiful seaside location, and as promised a great 'full Irish breakfast' with the option of something a little different if you wish. I really enjoyed my time in Carlingford, its a little hidden treasure in Ireland, and I now know were I'll be staying next time I visit. Thanks again guys!! Lawrence and Claire, Eglish and Bangor.

Room Tip: Book early

We stayed in Beaufort House on St. Patricks Day, and honestly could not fault this accommodation. Although we only checked in late and were out early next morning, this guesthouse exuded a friendly and homely atmosphere.

Located in a stunning location overlooking the Lough, Beaufort House was clean, tidy and offered a beautiful breakfast, with more than one option. A lovely fruit salad was exactly what the doctor ordered after an "indulgent" St.Patricks Day. And to follow was a lovely cooked breakfast.

The room was very spacious, and offered beautiful views. Everythingwe needed was provided Our hosts could not have been friendlier. I felt it appropiate and even more so necessary to write this comment to commend them on their lovely guesthouse and their hard work and success at what they are doing.

After working in the tourism industry for a number of years I truly can see the high standards this lovely guesthouse offers and for a fair price.

Thank you for a lovely stay and would defintely recommend Beaufor House.

My wife and daughter came with me on a work related trip for 1 night in Carlingford. I chose this hotel from other reviews of this hotel, and i was totaly blown away with this superb accom.
The hosts Glynis and Micheal Caine were lovely and couldnt do enough for us, they gave loads of good infor as regards this delightful villiageand which restaurants were more family friendly. The room was lovely and very clean and tidy, there were lovely views over the Lough and the breakfast the next morning was great, lovely home made jam and great sausages ect, Thanks for the Jam glynis lol. When we go back to Carlingford then i wont stay anywhere else.

Room Tip: Get the room with views over the Lough, simply stunning.

My wife (Evonne) and I only discovered Carlingford just over a year ago. We were fortunate to choose Beaufort House as a place to stay and have been back to Beaufort 3 times since, the most recent occasion being last Saturday, 25th February.

We wouldn’t dream of staying anywhere else in Carlingford. Owners, Michael and Glynnis Caine exude a genuine warmth and friendliness, couldn’t be more helpful and their place is lovely.

It is a quality, spacious B&B, tucked away in a quiet setting by the Lough, yet only a few minutes walk from the medieval village of Carlingford, with its stunning location and great restaurants and pubs.

The bedrooms are very comfortable and guests are welcome to relax and read in the ‘Chart Room’ downstairs (Michael and Glynnis are sailing enthusiasts).

They used to run a high end restaurant where Michael honed his culinary skills. Guests at Beaufort House reap the benefits at breakfast time in a stylish dining room. Michael’s full Irish fry (if that is your choice; there are other options available) is always beautifully cooked and presented and so tasty, and the coffee, toast, fresh bread and home made jams are delicious. We have eaten fine breakfasts in many parts of the world, and Michael’s are right up there with the best.

We have recommended Beaufort to a number of friends, and those who have stayed there have been very pleased.

Well worth a visit.
