Went here on the way home from work. Dinner was good but the service was diabolical. Very slow between courses, and it didn't seem that busy. Would not return again

We called into Indie Spice and were seated promptly with menus and popadums. There was a two piece band playing/singing.
We could hardly hear ourselves or the waitress hear us.
We decided to order to go.
One prawn starter, one prawn biriani (main) and one chicken (off the bone) dish (main).
While waiting for the carry-out to be cooked we were given an explanation for the really loud amplification. An accident with the speakers ... not a general policy. OK so.
Anyway the die was cast we were heading for home with a carry-out and had been given extra rice for free. The price tag was just ovet €33.
The starter was OK. The biriani was sort of stodgy but the prawns were nice. The chicken off the bone dish (that means in chunks ... and a good number of them) was kinda dry. The chunks that is, seemed overcooked and chewy.
The portions were ample but not the quality that Indie Spice used to be famous for.
Pity really.

The mango prawns are terrific. I asked the cook not to put cumin and he was very obliging. The naans are freshly baked. The staff are five star. If you’re any kind of curry officianado then this is the place for you. The food is cooked in sight within an open kitchen. Careful spicing to differentiate individual Indian regions. Good glass of wine too and of course plentiful beer. A complete accident finding this place. Possibly one of the best curry houses I have been in.
