Owner description: 45 minutes from Cork city and you will be transported on an exclusive historical natural visitor experience. A charming 10-seater passenger ferry 'Yassy' and a local guide will transport you to the previously inaccessible island; up the steep grassy incline to the summit and inside the black tower and onto the lantern balcony. Only goats live on the island.. sometimes they come and say hello!

“Really great Trip”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 August 2016 via mobile

We loved the trip over to the Island, & the tour was very interesting & informative, about a way of life that's gone now, & will be forgotten about if it's memory is not kept going. A great trip for both locals and foreigners.

“Best Ballycotton trip”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 July 2016 via mobile

Family trip to Ballycotton lighthouse with our excellent guide, Derry. Very informative but not intrusive. Fascinating tour about lighthouse history and Derry has great knowledge about all the seabirds and wild flowers as well as the lighthouse.
Absolutely recommend the tour and we thought it was good value.
Also to mention our very competent young skipper who fetched us too and fro.

“A worthwhile visit - loved the whole tour”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 July 2016 via mobile

From beginning to end this was a great tour. The guides were incredibly interesting and very engaging and entertaining. Their knowledge of the history of the lighthouse was quite spectacular. The boat trip was great & the tour of the island and the lighthouse quite amazing. The younger kids on the trip really enjoyed it too. A special excursion for an afternoon.

On a recent visit to East Cork I visited this well known pub on numerous occasions .
Great drink in lovely surroundings . plenty of craft beers on offer as well as product from Jameson .The beer garden in the back is great on a long summer evening .
The food from The Field Kitchen is really good in particular the monkfish .
The owner ,Mossie is a great character and has great staff including Ricky and the lovely Claire
. This charming and unique pub is a must see when visiting this part of East Cork .
A bottle of Prosecco is a lovely way to celebrate a birthday here !
