We found ourselves in Ballycotton on a hot June bank holiday and decided to try out the Bayview Hotel for food. Unfortunately, we were unable to get a table out on the outside terrace but instead took a seat in the bar, which still had a great view from the window.

The food - it really was delicious. I had the black pudding salad for starter, hake for main and puff pastry tart for dessert. All of it was divine, particularly the starter. My other half had the crab on brioche to start, the hake also and iced marshmallow for dessert. Everything tasted great, was presented well and the service was also excellent. The only slight gripe I would have is that the tables in the bar are quite low, knee height so it is a bit awkward.

Three courses each plus 2 soft drinks and 2 lattes came to €92 so a good price for the standard of food on offer.

I will definitely be coming back.

Stayed for a one night short break and on arrival we were dealt with by very nice receptionist. Our room was very clean and spacious. We had a few drinks in the bar, dinner in the restaurant and breakfast the following morning. The food was excellent (dinner and wine a little over-priced) but the service was a little bit of a let down. We kept having to ask for different things at both dinner and for breakfast. Staff were young and it was busy but not overly busy. The issue seemed to be that staff weren't properly trained and there was no manager providing direction....something that could be easily rectified. Also, food wasn't being restocked at breakfast, again I think due to the staff not being directed to do so. Overall very pleasant stay and would go back.

Had dinner here last weekend and was pleasantly surprised. The quality of food and ingredients was great. Unfortunately as it was the last evening of the season there weren't many diners in the restaurant so the atmosphere was a bit flat. Breakfast was ok but not nearly as good as dinner.
