We arrived to the brilliant glow of the sun setting over the hills and across the Pacific ocean in the distance. I was supposed to be getting a house familiarization tour and all I wanted to do was sit and watch the setting sun, the colours were mesmerizing. The toucans were still chattering in the trees and the cicadas still in crescendo with their nightly songs. The flora and fauna on the grounds around our villas stunning; having been gently cultivated by Susie and François over the years. Our hosts lived in a villa on the other side of the lemon trees, which we picked whenever needed for our cocktails, they were not too close nor too far away and always available to guide us around the area pointing out the trails to the waterfalls, or to the horseback riding adventures, beaches, restaurants, organic market on Tuesday or specialty evening exhibitions. This was a truly beautiful place to return to each day after driving to the coast, beaches, nature reserves or towns. We'd pick up fresh fruit and foods along the way and prepare our meals in the fully equipped facilities. Three separate villas and a little outdoor bedroom was perfect for our group of 6. Each with plenty of privacy and of course close enough to keep an eye on the children. Evenings were spent searching for all the small creatures that we don't get to see at home. Mornings were for birdwatching. We read many books, but wifi was there so we could tease all our friends back home with the images of serenity and beauty of the "7 Waterfall Villa." When we left it was hugs and tears. Each of us looking for any excuse to remain longer... A perfect vacation.
