If you seek quiet, peacefulness in a beautiful setting, this is it.
Been visiting many years, and have found nothing around that can compare.
Very clean, friendly, caring, courteous staff.
Various day outings, and beach near by.

Wonderful visit here. The pool is wonderful. The gardens are lush. Very private and secluded from it all. I got sick and Manuel helped me back to health with some medicine and support. Very knowledgeable check in and recommendations. He even gifted us a beautiful fan for our trip back to nyc. He was a bit cranky on American travelers but I think we helped him change this prejudice.

La Palapa is a very unique and nice place to stay, if you want to avoid stressy urban life in the nature. Situated a short distance from mainstreet it is kind of small private paradise. Kolibris flying around and also you can do a junglewalk to a beautiful waterfall.
The owner is very friendly and helpful, as you get very detailed and good tips.
I can totally recommend this place to stay some days.
I would definitely go there again

This is hotel which is different. It is eco lodge. Not that many people around and located in a quiet area. Even to get there during rainy season, you should have 4 wheel drive. You have to drive more than a kilometer on rocky/muddy uneven road at very slow speed. There is good size pool on property. There is no bar/restaurant and it is very very quiet. They do serve breakfast but no restaurant though. To go to a restaurant, you have to go out. at 9:00 pm, gates to enter are locked and after honks, guard open the door for us to enter. Manger/owner is real nice and helpful though. Also there is internet but in common area only.

We spent only one night and did not fully explore the whole property and I am sure it is like staying in rain forest.

As far as room comfort, there is no AC (this is eco lodge), and had some issue with mattress comfort. This may be great place for adventurers who spend less time in room and more time outside enjoying the country. AC, room comfort, and restaurant were important for us to enjoy as we found out. It is a preference.
After paying for 2 nights, we left in the morning after spending just one night. It was a good experience for eco lodge but did not enjoy. We do enjoy hotels with restaurants, bars and ones located close to city. Next day we decided to stay couple of days in Manuel Antonio and stayed in Shana By The Beach and enjoyed it.
