Three women had lunch, two had the petite shrimp salad with three shrimp(they were cut in half so you actually pay $13.00 for one and a half shrimp. The large shrimp salad had five shrimps which actually was two and a half for $15.00.....

So these new owners feel they can charge high prices for a salad with mostly lettuce?

The third person had taco soup and salad and said she had "better"......

I was so excited for a new restaurant to open up - this one is a RIPOFF

I must say we were excited to try the Prescott Station for the first time! We were a bit surprised by the prices but had high hopes for the experience and intriguing recipes. Our waitress was great, the atmosphere was nice and the wine and beer lists were extensive. My main issue really was the food. Neither myself or anyone in our party was impressed with the flavors. The spanish rice was more like tomato sauce with rice and the side salad was chopped iceberg with a couple radishes and cucumbers arranged in a row. Prime rib was very salty and fatty, the grilled veggies were huge but there were only 2 or 3. We tried the chips and salsa but the salsas were more like baby food and way over processed. Needless to say we were disappointed in the flavors and portions, they are very new so hopefully we'll see improvement over time.

We are fans of Carefree Station in Carefree, so were delighted that the same owners decided to open their second location in our hometown of Prescott. We had dinner there on the second night they were open, a Friday, and though some decorative touches were still to be finished and some staff was still in training, the food and service were both great. The wine list is really impressive but I settled for a modest merlot. We shared a wedge salad to start--very good and enough for 2-- then my spouse had the Steak Bleu Diablo and I had the Paella; both were wonderful. We finished by sharing the brownie, made with a little chili "kick" and served with cinnamon ice cream--it's to die for. It was good to see our waiter, Gino, again--he had served us at another Prescott restaurant, and there were some other familiar faces on the staff. A really good start for this new addition to the Prescott scene. Not for your low-budget evening, but you won't find finer food.
