There is nothing fancy about Silver Dragon. There are no great art works, plush seating, curtains, what-nots. There is simply a welcoming family with smiles and eagerness to serve you wonderful Chinese food in the restaurant or to take out. The best recommendation of the cuisine is that almost every day at lunch time there will be gatherings of Chinese gentlemen and families, along with a mix of whiter folks who love good food.
The food is what it is about. And the food is fresh. The vegetables are well cooked and still crisp. They tell you that they have not been sitting in refrigeration for ages. Meats and sea foods are ready to be eaten as well. The portions cover the plates.
Taken home as carry out the amount of food in those traditional paper containers is more than enough for two with moderate appetites. One eater is well satisfied.
For an outsider, the hours seem restricted. But the family explains that their closing at 5:00 p.m. was motivated by people not coming later in the day. Six hours a day, six days a week are plenty of time to be at Silver Dragon and enjoy. (Closed on Wednesday)
