On our last road trip, we stayed two full days in Phoenix, AZ. After numerous steak houses or hamburger joints on the road, we were craving for a good Chinese dinner. Being ethnic Chinese, we were very picky on finding a Chinese restaurant that was offering authentic Chinese dishes. Since we had not been in Phoenix for over 40 years, we had no idea where to start the research. Luckily, we met up with a local Chinese lady at the Desert Botanical Garden during lunch and she highly recommended this restaurant for good Cantonese preparations, and it was not too far from our hotel. We went there and ordered a fish/vegetable stirred fry dish and a plate of Cantonese fried noodle with pork. Both of them was well prepared and tasty. The noodle plate’s portion was so big that we only managed to finish half of it, and had to pack the rest. We were impressed with the noodle’s preparation enough that we also took out a complete new order of rice noodles to be consumed on our next stop at Tucson. This restaurant also served dim sum until 3 p.m. daily, so we did not have the chance to sample them. However, judging from the quality of our dinner dishes, I would think their dim sum would be pretty authentic too. Highly recommended if you are looking for good Cantonese food while in Phoenix. Two minor reminders: the restaurant was big, but not fancily decorated; its located was in a (apparently) not so good neighborhood, so please take cautions accordingly.
