On our last road trip, we stayed two full days in Phoenix, AZ. After numerous steak houses or hamburger joints on the road, we were craving for a good Chinese dinner. Being ethnic Chinese, we were very picky on finding a Chinese restaurant that was offering authentic Chinese dishes. Since we had not been in Phoenix for over 40 years, we had no idea where to start the research. Luckily, we met up with a local Chinese lady at the Desert Botanical Garden during lunch and she highly recommended this restaurant for good Cantonese preparations, and it was not too far from our hotel. We went there and ordered a fish/vegetable stirred fry dish and a plate of Cantonese fried noodle with pork. Both of them was well prepared and tasty. The noodle plate’s portion was so big that we only managed to finish half of it, and had to pack the rest. We were impressed with the noodle’s preparation enough that we also took out a complete new order of rice noodles to be consumed on our next stop at Tucson. This restaurant also served dim sum until 3 p.m. daily, so we did not have the chance to sample them. However, judging from the quality of our dinner dishes, I would think their dim sum would be pretty authentic too. Highly recommended if you are looking for good Cantonese food while in Phoenix. Two minor reminders: the restaurant was big, but not fancily decorated; its located was in a (apparently) not so good neighborhood, so please take cautions accordingly.

Saturday is a much better time to go than Sunday. Selection varies depending on time. Dim Sum is superb & highly recommend it. Very busy & loud, wait time can be up to an hour.

Welcomed as we walked in and seated quickly. The place is large. At the time there were 2 other couples seated. We ordered Chicken with Chinese Greens and Beef with fried noodles in black bean sauce. A large bowl of rice comes with the order. The order came quickly but the dishes came separately. The chicken dish came first and was good. The chicken was moist and cooked perfectly. The Noodle dish came a few minutes later and looked like a noodle pie. The Noodle dish was a bit disappointing. A black bean sauce usually makes a dish savory but this one lacked taste. It was ok but I wouldn't order it again, The dishes are good sized. Having eaten here since a year or two ago, I am remembering that they excel in Seafood dishes such as clams, shrimp and fish. They have tanks of live fish awaiting their demise. Some tanks were so full, the fish couldn't move. I like a good noodle dish too but the one ordered didn't fit the bill. Prices are low to mid range depending on what you order.

The service at this place was a lot better than at most restaurants, but the food was authentic, but just okay quality. We'll return if we happen to be in the area; otherwise, we'll return to Phoenix Palace instead.

I come from Los Angeles and used to amazing dim sum. It is hard to find here but this place was good. Not as many choices but i love the shrimp, shu mai and the rice in the banana leaves. Had a few other things.
