“Horseback riding at sunset is awesome!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 February 2012

My children and I took a sunset horseback riding tour called "T-bone" with the Ponderosa stables. the tour was well organized and an awesome experience. The horses traveled through mountainous foothills and desert land for an hour and arrived at a very popular steak house that was isolated in these foothills. The steakhouse gave you an awesome view of the city below with the lights twinkling beneath you! The food was great as well!!! The tour back to the stables was also mesmerizing as you journeyed on horses in the cool of the night with starry skies and a twinkling city beneath you. The entire tour took about 3.25 hours including an hour to eat. The price was only $45 but you paid for your meal that had prices ranging from $9-$36. I would visit Phoenix again just to take this tour!!!!

“Great value and a beautiful experience--right outside of the city!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 February 2012

My mom and I were in Phoenix to visit ASU, and decided that we wanted to go horseback riding. However, we were on a bit of a time constraint, so we wanted to stay near the city--Ponderosa Stables was perfect. It was a twenty minute drive from Tempe and, despite it's proximity, was very peaceful and suffciently "wild".

Our hour long ride through the mountain was beautiful, and our trail guide was very informative about the area and local fauna. Everyone we met was committed to having us enjoy our experience, from the ride to an impromptu breakfast they arranged for us (if you have a group, be sure to ask to add breakfast/lunch to your ride --it was a great conclusion to our experience)

If you're going to be in Phoenix, definitely book a ride with Ponderosa stables. It was a fantastic experience, and we will be coming back next time we're in the area!

“Fun with Kids”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 February 2012

This is a wonderful easy slow trail ride with beautiful views of Phoenix. It is perfect for the non-horse people and kids. Not going to stimulate people looking to run a horse, just a different venue. Fun cowboy experience in the middle of a major city.

“Fabulous!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 January 2012

We went there for a one hour ride through South Mountain and dinner with our 3 kids (aged 9,6 and 2). It was wonderful from start to finish. The guide was great with the kids and narrated the ride with info that was interesting to the whole family. Next, they cooked us dinner with a campfire. Highlight of our trip. I highly recommend this experience.
