“Teach a kid to fish!”

We spent most of Memorial Day weekend trying to catch fish with our two kids, without so much as a nibble. We wanted to leave on a good note and ensure they would want to fish again at some point and Rancho Tonto did not disappoint. Catching trout here is sooo easy that you might need to have one kid at a time fish?! We caught 4 in all (although we could have caught more). The fish were a bit expensive BUT Brenda and Randy included the guy cleaning and ice and packaged them for us. Would recommend to anyone that just wants their kid to catch a fish!

With the limited stocking of Arizona waters this year this is an excellent opportunity for young children to have success fishing. Smiles are immeasurable but at $1.00 an inch adds up quickly. Not for a serious fisherman but great way to interest kids in the sport. Custodian will gut but heads, tails and bones remain. All Idaho farm raised Rainbow trout.

Wanted to take grand-kids to a Trout Farm. Have taken our kids to several around the country. Found "Rancho Tonto" on the internet.
Didn't like what I saw in various reviews, but loved the idea of having a cabin right outside the pond where the grand-kids could fish. REALLY wanted to see the cabin, even at their high prices. Arrived at a "CLOSED" sign on their gate 26 Oct 16.

Most of us will pay anything to spoil our grand-children; even the ridiculous price of a Dollar an Inch. But when they shut the gate in your face...

We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you and your family. Please know that we are a seasonal business. Our Fall hours as stated on our web site are Saturdays and Sundays from 10am - 5pm thru the end October. RANCHO TONTO is now closed for the winter and will reopen in March for fishing.

Again, we do apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you.

The weather was awesome and if you are looking for a relaxing weekend in Payson, make this one of your stops. They even have a cabin to rent for a group.

Went here to do some fishing. Sure to catch some fish and beautiful scenery. Not far from Phoenix. Nice day trip.
