It can be pretty easy to pass by an Italian restaurant in a strip mall...but don't make that mistake! This is a nice little restaurant with a great atmosphere and servers who take good care of you. I think this is the second location they have (another in Green Valley) but this is ALWAYS a stop for me at least once when I am in Nogales.

We try to eat here once a week. There is another Ragazzi's in Tubac that's open for breakfast. Really good dinners. They do automatically add an 18% service fee, so don't leave an additional tip.

This restaurant has 4 locations, Green Valley, Tucson, Tubac and now Nogales next to PetSmart. The Nogales menu is the same as the GV location. In addition to Italian, they have gourmet Mexican, burgers, salads and appetizers. The wine selection is very nice and there is a full bar. We didn't have room for dessert - might try that next time.

In a town not known for fine dining, this is a pleasant surprise. The atmosphere is darkish, elegant, with nice music, black tablecloths & so on. I would suggest they staff-up, however, because two waitpeople cared for the whole place during a jam-packed lunch hour. The owner stepped in to help, but our drinks went mostly unfilled, our table un-bussed.
That said, we enjoyed our meals. My simple pasta with garlic, basil & fresh tomato sauce was delicious. My husband's lasagna was not outstanding ~ very cheesy, very little meat ~ but tasty. The salad was good-sized tho nothing special, but at least featured romaine lettuce ~ & unless you like gobs of dressing, we'd suggest getting it on the side. The minestrone was delicious, with obviously fresh veggies. The bread basket included focaccia & garlic bread, & the parmesan was grated fresh at our table. The tiramisu was quite large, with traditional lady fingers soaked in what tasted like rum. And the flan was unusually hearty & delicious.
The menu offers mostly Italian dishes, tho some Mexican entrees, steaks, seafood & even a burger. When we got the separate dessert menu we noticed pizza options on the back. Many dishes have a choice of lunch or dinner portions, at different prices. Lots of wine choices, cocktails, tequila etc. If our lunch visit was any indication this is a very busy place, especially for business / office groups. I'd suggest arriving well before or after peak times. We'll definitely eat here again.
