What a place to have an hacienda, at the end of the road that goes no where but quite the ride and views to get here . Once here you are welcomed by a friendly and smiling face named Maria. The place is made of of the original hacienda built in 1923 and several new structures down the beautiful property that have one wall all glass to enjoy the view of the volcano on a clear day...the original building does not have this view. The place is all wood including its furniture giving it an old world appeal. Very cosy and quaint common areas giving one a homy feeling.
Prior to dinner Maria took us for a hike where we were able to get a view of the highest mountain in Ecuador and upon our return we were treated to home made cheese and crackers.
Our room was nicely decorated with antiques , a wood stove and very cozy and comfy beds!
Dinner and breakfast were simple but good with many items grown right there on the property ...we enjoyed beef, pasta, chicken, trout and fresh bread.Breakfast was simple made up of juices, crepes, eggs and bacon on a fresh made bun in a wonderful atmosphere .
We were with gate1 travel and like the rest of the places they chose this was another gem.More
