La Casa Verde was an absolutely wonderful place to stay while in Baños. It's not your typical backpacker haven, but would be an excellent place for a backpacker to get some reprieve from the usual accommodations. The room was absolutely amazing and the cost was extremely reasonable. The breakfast each morning was delicious and the staff really helped us prepare well for our daily activities. I would highly recommend staying here, no matter what type of trip you are on.

This was an amazing hotel, with clean rooms, amazing views, delicious breakfast and treats, and best of all...amazing staff. Doug, the owner, was amazing. He was happy to take the time to talk with us and make suggestions, and has connections for everything...taxis, expeditions, and restaurants. On site is Angie, a superb masseuse and always friendly and helpful. I highly recommend. It's a bit out of town, which I didn't realize, and at first thought it would be a problem. But taxis are extremely inexpensive, and the wooded location next to the river gave it a peacefulness that was lacking in town.

what a place!!!

located a couple of minutes in a cab, from the centre of baños, is this haven of homely and welcoming home away from home. it needs to be a little away from town to get peace and quiet, that makes this place so special.

it's run by Doug and the ever smiling Angie and has everything you could ever want or need. nothing is too much trouble and we were made to feel so welcome.

fantastic hospitality, lovely and bright rooms, the sound of the river in the background, a genuine eco experience (we've stayed at so many pretend 'eco' lodges in our time in south america), loads of info on the local area/activities, in-house massage and beauty treatments, free tea and coffee, stunning and tranquil setting, comfy lounge area with huge DVD collection, other lovely travellers to chat to, delicious delivery pizzas, tasty brownies for purchase....is there anything I missed???

and all at a very reasonable price!!!

you would be mad to stay anywhere else!!!

well done guys and keep up the good work

We came to stay in Banos 2 nights but we found La casa Verde such a homie place that we decided to stay 4 nights. I think this is the best $50 room we have found in Ecuador. Doug is a wonderful host and can help you with organizing any activities you might wanna do in Banos. The entire building has such a warm feel and it is beautifully designed. Breakfast is excellent and everything they serve is home made. Everything in the guesthouse is built with a green concept. We can't find a flaw to this place and we highly recommend it!

Baños itself is truly special and it was nice to top it off with a stay at La Casa Verde. We were greeted and treated incredibly by hosts Will & Rachel. Although a short taxi ride/walk from town, it was nice to get away from the downtown hustle and bustle a bit. They have everything you need for the perfect stay, including the best in house masseuse, that happens to make her own all natural shampoo & soaps. The rooms are large and spacious and we lucked out getting a balcony to enjoy the breathtaking views. Breakfast was fresh, simple and delicious and I heard the brownies were out of this world! All of the staff and help were very sweet and accommodating. Can't wait to return to Baños and stay here again!
