“Unique dining experience”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 February 2012

This is a One-man show! The food and ambiance are 95% better than any of the other restaurants that we tried during our 5 day stay in El Calafate. The owner is a very nice and hardworking guy that will share his experience with you if asked. No major frills, very down to earth and 'bohemian' as others have put it. For lunch we had a pescado dish with potatoes and beef with carrot/cabbage salad and the chocolate marquis?/brownie dessert with raspberry topping and whipped cream was heavenly with coffee!

“Nice place, excellent food, fun and crazy service”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 January 2012

The food is excellent! Everithing is homemade, from bread to pasta, from jam to salad cackes and you cannot don't feel the difference from conventional food.
The staff is very fun, quite crazy, and completelly commited to make you fell good.
If you are looking for something "serious" this is not for you, the athmosphere is very young and relaxed, and prices are really cheap.
If you go to calafate, do not miss it!!

“Tasty fresh & healthy food washed down with great coffee”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 January 2012

Extremely cool cafe to relax in overlooking a little triangular plaza at the end of the main street. The owners are very friendly & you know the food is fresh when there isn't a regular menu, Lucas just tells you what they have each day. For a small cafe they have a really good selection. Went there on our 2 nights in El Calafate we liked it so much & had great food both times. The freshly squeezed limonada was also excellent after a day in the sun & the excellent coffee perked me up after a long day ice trekking.

“Burgo - the only cool place to be in El Calafate”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 January 2012

BURGO is quite an oasis in El Calafate! We are a couple in our 20s/30s and did some awesome hikes through Patagonia . When we got to El Calafate the town seemed all touristic and Disney-like and we almost gave up to find a cool pub/restaurant with a cool host - until we found BURGO. Lucas is an awesome cook and moreover an reeeeaally cool guy so we came here a couple of times. He and his buddy really love their little restaurant/bar, provided us with the best food for fair price, great drinks and most of all best talks and music. We ended up staying late a couple of times and in the end Lucas even gave us his essentail music collection as mp3. For all younger and/or cooler people there is only one place in El Calafte to eat, drink and hang out. Free Wifi included.

Thanks so much, mate! Hope you remember us!

“Nice place, exotic experience”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 January 2012

A nice one! Service was very warm. They don't have a regular manu, the waitor will tell you what they have in that particular day. We ordered beef with smashed sweet potato and a vegetable pie, beef was good! The pie was too creamy for Asian. The dishes were not too big, just the right. And the entree sauce was great! They only accept cash, but the price of the meal was very reasonable.
