This hotel captures the best view of the snow capped Andean mountains. All the rooms have lake view, breakfast, dining room is on a lower level with stunning lake view. There is a spa and an indoor pool that is connected to the gardens.
Breakfast items were awesome with fresh fruits and pastries. There is a bistro bar overlooking the lobby.
The beds were comfortable, bathroom was very clean.
There was a nice restaurant right across. We could walk to downtown easily.

The hotel is right on the lake, only a stone's throw away. The view of the Andes surrounding the lake is quite something, and sound of the waves lappping is very restful. Just a short walk to the town square, restaurants, shopping for chocolates.. .

We wanted to visit friends in Bariloche so we booked what we thought would be a five star property in a convenient location. The location was close to the city but also very close to a pack of barking dogs that went 24 hours per day, the hotel has NO air conditioning so we had to choose between constant barking with the window open or constant sweating with the window closed. We also found most of the staff to be indifferent to our needs and the waiter in the bar gets an award for the person least likely to smile.

This was a great hotel and I only wish I could have stayed longer. The rooms were quaint but very comfortable. The view outside the window was beautiful. The staff was friendly and the breakfast was good. It is in such a beautiful location!

Travelling South America December 13-24th we were excited to arrive in Bariloche for a 3 night stay and our trip was cut short by an airline strike, so we were only there for 2 nights which was disappointing as we intended to spend more time there. We hoped to find a hotel "near" the water..stumbled upon Alma De Lago on line....how much closer do you want to be stepping off your private deck to see the white caps below.. AWESOME views. Excellent front desk..We had two rooms: one king and one double. Both were well appointed with a beautiful view, deck [small and very windy on the water], nice furnishings, and a marble bathroom that was very clean and well maintained. Complimentary breakfast that with a great selection of meats, eggs, sweets, rolls, pies, fruit, granola, etc.. Coffee was terrible. Room service was limited to a few items: I found the mushroom soup delightful.. the caprese pizza was lacking.. This hotel reminds me of a ski lodge with spa, sauna, pool and massages. What more could you ask for...well,all I wanted was a down pillow...I recommend they change out the pillows to down for the entire hotel as the ones we had were not comfortable at all, despite their attempts to find something to please us. The front desk assistance was excellent and they organized a 4 hour tour of Patagonia that was sensational.. the downtown area is Swiss-like.. not the greatest shopping [typical sweatshirts etc.] as I was looking for Artisan items like wool socks and sweaters.. lots of construction going on and not a Starbuck's in sight...found the coffee disappointing and wished I had brought my Keurig!!! Lots of nice restaurants and an abundance of chocolate shops..I loved the empanadas and the crepes that I found for lunch. Generally the food was very good.. we had steak, shrimp and fish.. the meat is incredible and the prices are very good. Food was tops. Don't pass up the 50 shades of Malbec when dining out! It was chilly when we arrived with cold winds off the lake of 40 MPH.. All in all, we would certainly return to Alma de Lago for another holiday in the south of Argentina. Room was $140.00 US.. that was a bargain!

Room tip: All the rooms are excellent.. Accommodations were very nice and reasonably priced.
