We stayed at a different hotel before coming to Aitue and wanted to change hotels because the previous one had a terrible shower, tiny bathroom, no space, and horrible wifi. Aitue was definitely better in those regards--good water pressure, a lot of room (we're a family of 4), really helpful staff, and pretty affordable price (2400/night). The wifi was great in the room. The only downside was that we were in a room facing the street (they didn't have quadruple rooms on the opposite side of the hotel) and the hotels next to and across the street are for students so from 11-1am every night the teenagers were yelling and partying outside and it made it very difficult to sleep. But at 1 they went to the nightclub so it was quiet until about 5am and then we heard them when they were walking back to the hotel. So, if you're a heavy sleeper and can handle it, I would recommend it, but if not, it won't be a very pleasant experience.

Room tip: Get a room not on the street side

We got this special barging via an email alert from Booking.com. It was a super location, 5-10 minutes walking distance, sometimes less to just about all you want to check out. Staff very helpful and friendly, great breakfast..not your usual bread, butter, jam and that ugh..pork aka ham, yogurt, cereal and respectable coffee. Our room was one of the better after 2 months of wandering about Chile n Argentina feeling sorry for the folks having to suffer through that winter up north. Check out Aitue, you may indeed be surprised as we were. We took a local bus with their help to do the tour along the lake n walk in park. Chap next to T-shirt shop will give you 5.5 peso to the $... Rate keeps changing as we got 7 here in Mendoza.

I stayed at Aitue for 4 nights in January, 2013.

Location: The location is super convenient if you want to be right in downtown, you could not be closer to the main street without actually being on it.

Noisy: Across the street from the hotel is a bar/nightclub which can be heard well into the wee hours of the night (3am?). Because there isn't A/C in the rooms you must leave the windows open to get fresh/cool air. It is very difficult to sleep through the club music.

Wi-Fi: Between both of us we had two i-pads, one i-phone and a Google Samsung phone. The Apple products NEVER connected to the wi-fi but the Samsung phone no issue. We inquired to the front desk about why none of the three apple products could connect and they had no advice other than to restart the gadgets. Restarting gadgets, forgetting and reconnecting to networks, reentering passwords etc did nothing to help the issue. If you need wi-fi and you use an Apple product then you should stay elsewhere.

Accommodations: The bedroom facilities are very run down. Aitue is reasonably priced in comparison to others in the area but do not expect much. Our bathroom has tons of broken tiles, a shower that spit water all over the floor, no A/C and hard as rock pillows. The elevator is the smallest I've ever seen, in any country. Obese or wheelchair-bound people would never fit in the elevator, with or without luggage.

Service: Front desk staff are very helpful as long as you speak Spanish and aren't inquiring about why the wi-fi doesn't work on Apple products. We were able to book tours and locate other in-town services with the assistance of the front desk.

Food: Breakfast is served starting at 7/730am and is the standard Argentinian offering: cereal, yogurt, breads, coffee, juice and a fruit bowl (apples and oranges).

Room tip: Choose the back of the hotel to avoid the street noise.

The staff at Hosteria Aitue really helped us plan our stay in Bariloche. They went out of their way to make phone calls to set things up for us. The location is very central and price is reasonable. Breakfast was included, tasty, and had fairly long hours.

My only complaint at all about Hosteria Aitue is that a youthful nightclub is located right next door. We stayed during the peak of summer vacationers (the few days around New Year's), and when we left our windows open at night, it could be pretty loud. A neighbor's home alarm system also went off several times during each night of our stay. The double paned windows do keep things quiet, but we needed the windows open to cool down the room.
