When we found this place the people from the hostel where very nice and the hostel looked quite alright for the price we paid per night (220). But it was very misleading overall. They advertised for a double room 200 pn including breakfast. They told us to pay 220. In the morning there was no breakfast at all, just a little bit of butter. We where there at 9am so it's not that we where to late. The room looked fine. But we where located next to the street and it was pretty loud. But that's why they invented earplugs ;-). Dirty blanket and room was smelly. The showers where to cold in the morning and extremely hot at night. It was not really clear in the beginning who was working in the hostel and who wasn't. The people from the hostel looked like backpackers there selves and where hanging out with the guests in the middle of the night. It's a weird place and would recommend to find another place, there are more places in town with a similar price.

We just walked into this hostel from the street without looking reviews first, because in the daylight it looked decent. Mistake! In closer inspection it's awfully dirty and falling apart, I didn't even dare to go to the kitchen. But the worst part is there is a lot of noise and cigarette smoke coming into the rooms, and people partying all night long. So, if you want to sleep, don't choose this so called "hostel".

Room Tip: Stay away!

We de not recommend this hostel. We could not sleep at all the whole night. It seems that all young people came here to party. And the worst is that the receptionnist did party with them instead of asking to stop the noise. They put loud music untill 3.30 in the night and did start again at 7 when coming back from the disco. Irrespectfull people who did not care about the others.

I stayed 12 nights in this hostel just because of the cheap price. To be frank, this hostel is not very clean. People often smoke in the common area. The kitchen is often out of salt/oil. The shower room is just so so. Don't use the shower room near the kitchen! The price is more expensive for walk-in customers. If you arrive Salta by bus during daytime, you can look for some deals in the bus terminal.

I have stayed in many places bad around the world in India, Nepal, Cambodia, Thailand, Laos, Vietnam and Bolivia. But the difference with these places is that they are cheap. El Andaluz Hostal looks like it has not seen a clean since it was opened. There are coakroaches under the beds, smears all over the walls, some of the rooms are like prison cells and overall it ist plain dirty. Also the hostal itself is full of circus performers, jewellery makers and hippies not a problem but they seem to take over the whole place. There are a lot better places in town like Iquana and Tilian which are around the same price, have better equipped kitchens and actually get cleaned.
