I returned after several years here with my husband. Still charming clean and quaint.

This time we found our room noisy from footfall on the stairs and in need of some small touch ups on the paint work. Also we had no space to manage our suitcases which we were living out of as just a 3 night stay.

Hotel remains a great recommendation for Salta, but just starting to look a little tired and needs a little tlc to retain its top placing going forwards.

We stayed here 2 nights, and were travelling as a family of 3, a couple with our adult son. It's outside of town, quiet and there are good restaurants, walking distance. It's beautiful with a nice pool, etc. Good breakfast too, and very accommodating. I would definitely recommend this place if you have a car!

Room Tip: We were 3 so we stayed in the "suite" which worked great.

A gorgeous, bijou, boutique hotel in a residential area, ten minutes drive from the centre of Salta. Smallish rooms, most with balcony or terrace, with decor inspired by the local mountain colours and materials. Lovely lounge area with a small honesty bar and plenty of coffee table books to browse through. Small garden with pool, attractively styled. Good, home-made buffet breakfast. I recommend Kkala if the weather is dry and warm - most enjoyable when you can be outside. Also, you must be prepared to do your own research on local restaurants or drive in to the centre - don't rely on the staff's recommendations. Lovely place, but if you are in Salta just for one or two nights, I would say at Legado Mitico, which is in an area with modern, local bistros and cafes and is just a couple of blocks from the main square.

This boutique hotel is in a quiet and affluent suburb about a 30 minute walk from the main plaza.

The decor is quirky and charming and beautifully done.

Local crafts adorn the walls of the common areas, the mirror frame in the bathroom and the headboard of the king size bed. Cactus wood features on the doors and terracotta tiles in the bathroom recall the adobe bricks used for centuries in local buildings.

The English speaking service is attentive and accommodating without being intrusive.

We needed breakfast at 6am (usual time is from 7am) to fit around a day tour and this was arranged with no fuss.

Our late arrival was also no problem and we greeted as if it were the middle of the day.

The room was spacious and had a glazed balcony with an open roof. The green walls worked perfectly with the various natural wood finishes.

A plate of handmade chocolates was refreshed each night and a well stocked bar fridge provided plenty of options to wash them down.

Pros
Safe, quiet location.
Comfortable, firm king bed.
Full length hanging space in wardrobe.
English speaking staff.
Radiators in room.
Good, powerful shower.
Provided toiletries in dispensers.
Desk and chair.
Free WiFi.
Tasty buffet breakfast.

Cons
Only one upholstered chair in room.
No tea making equipment.
No drawers, only open shelves.
Shower over bath.
30 to 40 minute walk to main plaza.
