We booked a late afternoon hike with Santos and his llamas and had an unforgettable time.
We and two other guests were introduced by santos to our llamas - he is passionate about them and told us their individual life stories and then we set off for a couple of hours hiking gently around the outskirts of the village talking to santos about llamas and lots of other things.
We stopped in a beautiful setting looking over the valley to the multicoloured cliff faces opposite and santos put together a wonderful snack with goat's cheese, jam, apples, biscuits, water, maté while the llamas drank and chivvied eachother.
I can't over praise Santos and his business. He clearly loves the animals and looks after them wonderfully and also works with the local community.
We returned to base several hours after setting out all feeling much more in harmony with the place thanks to our hours spent with Santos, his llamas and wonderful dogs.
