We have a corner deluxe room with a king bed, and the staff set up a crib for our toddler. The room was spacious and clean. There was a bench on the balcony where you are immediately one with nature, because the property is basically in the middle of a rainforest. The staff were helpful. There was a fleet of taxi waiting at the hotel every morning. We used taxi to visit the Falls (both the Argentinian and Brazilian side). Fares were reasonable - just make sure you only pay the driver after the entire trip is completed. Once, we had to hail a taxi in town to get back to the hotel because our driver was stuck in traffic in Paraguay.

Not many people use the hotel cafe, which is a pity. Although its menu was limited (e.g., no steak or pork shoulder), it did serve cafe food like fried veal/chicken and pizza, and they were cooked to order. The empanada was one of the best we've had. Everything (including the wine) was cheaper than what we typically got from cafes, and tasted good too.

Tip 1: Remember that you are in the midst of a rainforest and construction work is ongoing, so there are bound to be mosquitoes. Take the necessary precautions. When we just checked in, we were so excited by the rainforest view, we left the sliding door (and insect shield) to the balcony open for 10 minutes. We woke up with bites the next morning.

Tip 2: I made reservation on a website which allowed me to pay the hotel in pesos only when I checked in. The website quoted me in USD, and the hotel converted that to pesos using the official exchange rate. You can potentially pay less USD than what you are initially quoted.

Room tip: The second floor rooms with balconies give you a better view of the rainforest.

It is still under construction, but that wasn't an issue at all. It is located at the entrance of the rainforest, which is just near Puerto Iguzu. I'd suggest having a car or calling a taxi to move around. The hotel works with some taxis, just ask at the reception. They can drop you to all the touristic attractions including the Brazilian park, and then pick you up.

We remark the great attention of the employees, in particular of Javier, who works at the reception. He was really kind to give us a lot of suggestions on how to enjoy better our time in Iguazu.

This property is well outside of "civilization" in the Iguazu area. We arrived somewhat late (9ish PM) so we asked the reception clerk if they served food to see if we needed to go into the village proper. We were assured that yes, they were still serving food. We decided to check in & have something to eat in the hotel. Bad move.

The menu was VERY limited and we were advised that the best thing was some kind of pizza. We ordered that and what turned out to be their "complete" burger with a fried egg on top. Actually it was a microwaved previously fried egg disk atop a microwaved meat patty. The "pizza" was something I've never encountered in my 50+ years of traveling - a gelatinous disk completely covered with a thick mostly tasteless cheese and triangles of ham. It seems that the only cooking device in the kitchen is a microwave. The mystery meat burger turned out to be not as bad as the "pizza". A reasonably priced bottle of good Malbec dulled the pain & we retired for the evening.

The room was somewhat large but the three beds in it took up a lot of space. It won't win any prizes for decor. The bidet (they seem to be everywhere in Argentina) was wedged into the small bathroom so tightly I don't think one could actually use it. The A/C worked OK (which is important in the area) but seemed to make a little "squeaking" sound. The power went out shortly after we had gone to bed - this, I thought, will be a problem with no A/C. Fortunately this outage and the two subsequent ones were only a few minutes long.

The breakfast the following morning was pretty good - I guess they DO have a toaster to go with the microwave. A good assortment of the usual cold cuts, cereal, etc.

The maintenance and service in this property was generally good. I did, however, eventually find that the squeaking sound I thought was the A/C was actually coming from some kind of cricket-like insect behind the small room 'fridge.

Overall, our experience here was not BAD, just unsettling as a result of a macabre "zombie-like" feeling to the place. As other have observed, the place is still technically "under construction". It's been "under construction" so long that most of the still-exposed iron work is thoroughly rusted. We DID hear what sounded like small cement-mixer for a brief period one day but this place needs more than that. It looks like an massively over-extended, over-sized property that ran out of construction funding about 20% of the way in.

This hotel, a couple of km from the main town of Puerto Iguazu, is being carved out of a rainforest, so is an interesting experience. Because of its location, either a rental car or extensive use of taxis is necessary. When this hotel is completed, it will have a high star rating, as it is a quality construction. Although still being built, we were not affected at all by the construction work, and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The reception staff were very helpful. Through them we made contact with a taxi driver, who we subsequently used for our trips to the Nationale Parques in Brazil and Argentina. Juan was excellent, a good safe driver and very reliable. His contact phone number is 03757-15432034. The hotel has cafe area, where we ate an excellent breakfast (included in our rate) and a couple of evening meals, from their limited but good quality menu. This also saved us some expense, as Puerto Iguazu restaurants are expensive. Overall, a very good value hotel, which is likely to become more expensive once the construction is completed.

Rainforest Hotel Selva is a brand new hotel, it opened just 6 months ago. It is located at the entrance of Puerto Iguazu, near the big roundabout with the road leading to Brazil. A car is definitely needed when you stay there.

The hotel sits in the jungle and the area is very quiet. The first things you notice when you arrive is the small outside pool and the impressive lobby. The young guy at the reception is very nice and speaks an acceptable English.

All rooms are very large, ours had a balcony overlooking the jungle. They are comfortable and well-appointed with air conditioning (although quite loud), a flat TV screen, a minibar, and a free and reliable wifi signal. The pretty stylish bathroom was clean, with all expected amenities except tissues. And the free breakfast was ok.

The only drawback of this hotel is the fact that you have the feeling to stay on a construction site, because many parts are still unfinished and extensions are being built. But it did not really bothered us.
