Travelled with my husband and toddler and we had a great visit. The hotel has a really nice (very heated) indoor pool that kids under 12 can access until 3pm, a nice spa, and an awesome supervised playroom for kids. (A parent has to be there if your child is under 2 or 3 and in the vicinity, even if they're older, but it gives you some freedom.). My husband went surfing and said the waves were great and you can walk to the beach from the hotel.

I went a weekend ago for a work trip, and all the time that i had to spend at the hotel were perfect, the room, the lobby, the pool and the restaurant just perfect and excelent wifi conection in each part of the hotel, that let me work while having a little rest :).
The location is between the city centre and the south beach, maybe a little far of the restaurants and the shops but is a good choice is you want to run away of the crowed places.
ps: the restaurant has a beautifull view of the sea that you can enjoy while you have a meal

Room Tip: There are rooms with a nice view to the sea that you can see the sunrise ;)

I just spent 4 days by New year(2015). We got two rooms with ocean view. I had stayed at Sasso more than 20 years ago. It is completely redone. The front desk people should be cloned and employed by every hotel. Valet guys are excellent and even when parking costs extra, it is well worth it. Location is not central, but it is great if you want to avoid downtown madness and filthy beaches. It even has a beach complex where they will offer you a discount if you are a hotel's guest. It is a nice complex too!
Spa and heated outside pool are great. First class premises.
Restaurant is ok, breakfast is ok. If you go to dine there, and you get a girl named Florencia as your waitress, change to another table. Or you will get not only bad service but bad attitude too!

Room Tip: Superior rooms are a little more expensive but fit more than two and are very stylish. If you are a big group, they rent a chalet by the pool that looks awesome, something to consider...

Take into consideration that we were there during their winter. The town is very quiet and this hotel is way out of the downtown. The view of the ocean is lovely and I think that in the summer, it's very busy and in a good location. Very little of the staff speaks English which made things a bit difficult. The rooms are nice sized, except that the heat was blasting and the thermostat was set and couldn't be moved. We ended up leaving the window open but it was very warm. The buffet breakfast was typical, neither fabulous nor poor, just average. Lunch was a bit better and the empanades and salads were very nice. The food at the two banquets was only ok. It is about twenty minutes from the bus station but cabs are inexpensive. I think I'd choose a more centrally located hotel next time.

Stayed for 5 nights at end of March 2014. Lovely hotel. Opt for a Superior Suite - great value. Fantastic professional staff who really care about their guests' comfort. Flavia, Andres, Facundo and others are stars. Corner room 301 is divine, with a Jacuzzi and good cross-ventilation. Super view as well. Squeaky clean - excellent maid service (Paula). Perfect breakfast buffets.
This hotel has recently re-opened and is a totally renovated building that looks great and is very comfy. The indoor spa with warm pool is excellent but the outdoor unheated but gorgeous pool sits in the midst of a garden oasis that beckons birds with a fig tree. All told, a way-above-average establishment. And, it's quiet and subdued. Beats the pants off the overwrought and pricey Costa Galana and Sheraton.

Remember - go for the best rooms. The Superior Suite (nothing less) is well-worth it for size and comfort (and that great bathtub).

Room Tip: As I've said - Go for a corner Superior SUITE. Wonderful views and three opening windows.
