We were heading to a different restaurant, but open the door of El Mirasol and didn't regret it. We already experienced quite a few of restaurants serving meat in Argentina, some better, some worse. El Mirasol knows its beef and cooks it expertly to a perfection.
Our company consisted of 2 couples and we ordered filet mignon and a ribeye steak to share, plus custom order of salad made of just tomatoes and onions (our favorite side dish we ordered at each restaurant in Argentina). I think we could have doubled on those again - so good it was. The service was attentive but not annoying and at the end of the dinner we were also presented with a little gift from the restaurant - a canvas with a chart of beef cuts, in Spanish. Forgot to mention desserts (Italian style) - but that one deserves a separate review - people with sweet tooth will rejoice here.

Service was excellent. The food was very good with a great presentation. We started with a salad to share....endive, radicchio & Parmesan cheese, beautiful! Followed by a tenderloin tip & a ribeye steak. Both prepared to our liking. Portion sizes are large so we did not have any sides. Good selection of wines that seemed to be reasonably priced. Atmosphere is elegant, but not stuffy. Highly recommend.

The steak was excellent as was the wine we selected. However some of the side dishes were not that impressive - I found the steamed vegetables disappointing and lacking in flavour. In addition the Provençal potatoes did not actually reflect the English description on the menu but that may well be down to our failure to communicate effectively with our waiter who was fairly helpful however we were taken aback by his demand for a 10% gratuity in cash which we were going to leave anyway but I felt his approach was discourteous.

Although El Mirasol is pricey, the quality cannot be better. The lomo tenderloin tip is outstanding. Also, I love their salad "El Mirasol" which contains heart of palm, avacado, walnuts and apples. Expensive but worth it! Since it is open from lunch thru dinner, you can eat dinner early at El Mirasol.
