For once we wanted to have lunch in Palermo off parrilla. We stopped at Watt Market. A quiet cozy eatery. Simple refined modern bright decor, lovely terrace.
We ordered to a young friendly waiter home-style dishes like pumpkin and coco soup, large savory salmon salad, gnocchi, mushroom risotto and creative waffle caprese served with ginger lemonade. Light and fresh.

After three weeks in Argentina I was CRAVING a SALAD! Watt Market was just what I needed. Stopped here for lunch mid-shopping session in palermo and had a chicken salad. It was super fresh, tasty and full of flavour - and good value too. I also loved the setting - the actual interior of the restaurant looked gorgeous, but I opted to sit outside in the lovely sunny courtyard. A great way to balance out the meat-fest that is Argentina!

Was randomly walking around the neighborhood and stumbled on this place. It was really nice inside, so I stopped in for brunch and was really impressed. Very representative/quintessential Palermo eatery based on my assessment during my time in the neighborhood. I had brunch/lunch.

From the window this cafe/restaurant looks fairly upmarket but once inside it's modern and chic but quite relaxed - even a TV on which is something that puts us off quite often. However, the volume was down so it was ok. The young waiter seemed a bit nervous and said he didn't speak much English only what he'd "learnt from TV and movies". He was very helpful and friendly seeing we only know simple greetings etc in Spanish! (We'll try to learn more!) Our dinner was tasty (large serves) with a lot of the same thing (I had a pasta dish) so we felt our plates lacked the variety we usually enjoy with some vegetable or salad. There didn't seem to be any appropriate sides on the menu to accompany my pasta or my husband's "schnitzel" (it was called something else in Spanish but basically crumb coated meat). Anyway, partly our fault as there were large main course salads that we later saw on other tables. I had a bit of "food envy" and think we should have shared a big salad + one of the heavier mains that we ordered. So, a pleasant evening but don't expect innovative cuisine - just well cooked, home-style food with pleasant, friendly service...the waiter seemed to relax at the end of the evening so that was nice too. The prices weren't too bad - a little on the expensive side for fairly basic food that you can easily do at home. However, all good quality and well cooked so we were happy enough!
