Wonderful area of the city. This a big city. Good to have an area for grounding. Great bars and restaurants. If we return, we will stay here and take the metro to other areas.

It's a fascinating area with sheet metal buildings and a historical view of what housing looked like. When we entered the street, we were accosted by tango dancers who asked for $5USD to pose with you. They put a hat and scarf on my husband in milliseconds and then you had no choice. So both of us did it and although we were uncormfortable with the high pressure tactics but have to say that having the picture after the fact is very memorable. So just go with it, take the pictures and enjoy the nice walk through the street. You'll see lots of local artists with their paintings and artwork, musicians and small shops. We walked through it probably in 30 minutes as we were on a tour but you could spend more time or less depending on your level of interest.

This neighborhood is funky and interesting. Shopping was great, unique items and winter sales were a plus! Walkable and nice to stroll, shop, eat. Relaxing. Reminded me a lot of the Village in NYC, back in the 80's, before it got gentrified. If you like a change of scenery from all the grand architecture in B.A., this is funky cool and very enjoyable area to spend time in.

Palermo use to be one huge quarter that now is divided into Palermo-Viejo, Palermo-Chico and Palermo-Hollywood . All of it is still quite residencial even when many families are moving out cos of the high number of turists and the loud noise of the bars and restaurants evening ....
You still able to apreciate some of the tipical house buildings from old times, there are many coffe-shops, trendy-shops and clubs wich open very late.
Nicer to walk around on weekends when there are markets on the squares !!!
