Brigit's b&b in San Telmo is close to the city & not too far from the metro. Buses run down her street 24/7 with a supermarket close by. We chose the studio which is in the front part of the house & apart from Saturday night was quiet enough to sleep. Next time I would prefer one of the lofts at the back of the house. Brigit took us to a local tango evening where local people dance the tango for their own enjoyment & she danced as well. She lent us a computer for e-mails & was helpful in every way possible.

I was really charmed by this place, and even though I was regularly heading over to Palermo to go out I loved coming back here. Brigit is really helpful with any enquiry you may have, so it feels like a very laid back place to come home too. I had one of the small courtyard rooms on the first floor, which was spotless and cozy at the same time, very stylishly decorated. I definitely took part in nocturnal BsAs so as a consequence slept much past the (already generous) breakfast hours and always found a pot of coffee kept out for me and plenty of breakfast in the fridge even though it was 1pm. The place is beautifully restored, and the rooftop terrace a real bonus when you want to keep up some sunbathing. Location-wise it's great, as perfect for San Telmo and central areas but feels really quiet, like a little haven. I loved San Telmo as a place to stay, La Poesia opposite is a great local to have, atmospheric, easy going and great food. Also - good to note that cabs in general in BsAs are cheap too, (and the Subte easy by day), so it's not a problem to get over to Palermo if that's what you want to do too, it's a large city but easy to get about.

Stylish old house, tastefully renovated, comfortable rooms in rustic design. Dining room with huge fridge for everyone to use, ample breakfast, delicious freshly squeezed orange juice. Brigit the hostess, will give you great advice about how to make the best of your stay in BA. Many of the major sights are within easy walking distance.

Room tip: There are two studios which look very attractive, but we did not rent them since we did not stay for a full week.

The location is very central and close to many attractions. The decor is very attractive, the place is extremely clean, and there is a nice, shaded rooftop patio that is great for reading. Brigit is quite helpful and let us use the common areas for several hours when we had a very late check out.

The best deal is the studio, which is rented by the week. This comes with a huge bed sitting room tastefully decorated, fully equipped kitchen and large bathroom, plus an open courtyard with a table and chairs just outside the door of the room, and use of the other common areas. With ceilings that are at least 20 feet high and lots of windows, the space seems enormous. Although breakfast is not included with this unit, the price is amazingly low. If you have the time to stay for a week, there's is lots to do in Buenos Aires and you would not find a better value than renting this studio.

At the risk repeating many others, we also would highly recommend La Antigua Casa de Brigit. Well priced and certainly value for money. The location is very convenient to many good restaurants and the antique sector and despite the odd graffiti and broken pavement, very safe. Brigit is a very warm, gracious and accommodating host. She is a wealth of information and any queries she could not answer immediately were followed up in a timely manner. Most importantly the room was quiet, exceptionally clean with a comfortable bed, top quality linen and bathroom amenities I would be pleased to find in a 4 star hotel. Breakfast was also of a high standard. We will certainly stay again should we return to Buenos Aires.

Room tip: There are suites available with cooking facilities. Double beds while the norm can be separated to allow for 2 singles in the one room.
