“Great retreat in heart of BA”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 April 2012

Stayed here on a business trip for only one night and wished I had more time at the "casa" - really is a haven of tranquility in the heart of Buenos Aires.
Once you walk in from the street you enter a serene atmosphere that flows through the whole place. The rooms are huge (think they used to be apartments), with excellent fittings and fixtures.
The breakfast room was a little cramped, but as they do not have too many rooms was not full.
Service was attentive and friendly.
Have nothing negative to say about the establishment, and next time I go to Buenos Aires will definitely stay there again.

If You arrive at this hotel You already made your choice before, because the hotel is has very few rooms. Your Taxi will stopp hopefully just in front that small high bulding with waterfall like greens. The building and surrounding looks a bit scary.
But if You enter everything is better even as in your dreams and probably experiences. The welcome and service by the young stuff is simply perfect, warmhearted, as is the design of everything you get aware. The deluxe rooms to the front are simply unique - I know no other luxury hotel rooms with that comfort: jacuzzi, sauna, spa shower, super large bed, everything in perfect design and built quality.Though outside is the traffic of a metropolis, inside it's top silent. You feel at home, private, spoiled. The breakfest in the small, but welldone lobby is simply great. Just get everything You want. If ever I come back to BA, that will be my Hotel. One hint: In the room You will find a great variety if products for your body - that is to be paid for. Recomendation: Walk to Puerto Madero - one of the most stunning places on earth. And eat out for dinner there or in Palermo Soho by taxi, which will drive you there for just nothing.

My husband and I doesn't our first few nights in Buenos Aries at Casa Calma. It was very well located and the staff were incredibly efficient at assisiting in in every way to find taxis to book restaurants. They even went so far as to help us verify which currency was real and which was fake, following a disastrous experience with a very dubious taxi driver. The rooms were well laid out and classy, but we would have probably liked a bit more space by way of a larger lounge and a larger eating area during breakfast.

As gluten and wheat free eaters, we also had to settle for no brad and milk for breakfast which meant we were pretty much limited to fruit and tea for breakfast. Bt having said that the tea selection epwas extensive and the fruit salads fresh and delectable.

We had a slight misshap with our bill, but to their credit their resolved it expeditiously!
Great place, well located near shops and eateries and a very helpful and efficient work force...

We spent 4 nights at the Casa Calma in March 2012. My good impression started even before we booked when is received immediate responses by email to all my inquiries. The staff also assisted us in booking reservations for an estancia outside of buenos aires and booking transport to that estancia and to and from the airport. The room we booked online (nonrefundable due to the better price) was listed as "standard". It had every amenity we would have wanted and more. I wonder how much better the next level of room could be. We had a spacious room (there are only 2 to a floor) and a jetted tub, separate glass enclosed shower, double vessel sinks, and separte toilet room. There was a flat screened tv will a multitude of English language channels, including many movie channels. Only thing missing was English CNN, a staple in most foreign hotels. I guess if there was one thing to change it would be that there is no view from the window. However, the hotel makes the most of the problem by screening the windows with outdoor vines. Not a bad solution. Location was fine although it is apparent that the neighborhood may not be entirely safe as the hotels keep their doors locked at all times and open them when you come to the door. You can walk from the hotel to the subway reasonably quickly (a few blocks). You can easily walk to the downtown through the pedestrian shopping street (Florida). There are restaurants within about 6 blocks, but not many. The hotel, however, has recommendations and will book for you and will call cabs, etc. All in all, it met or exceeded all the expectations that were raised by reading reviews on Tripadvisor.

Spent two nights at Casa Calma Hotel following cruise. Room excellent. Loved bath with tub and separate shower. Breakfast was simple but quite satisfying. Outstanding location.
Will recommend to others.
