This place would have been a fantastic resort in its day. It is now starting to look tired and in need of love. In saying that I will say that for the price it is still good value. The location is great and the rooms while basic and needing a bit of love are comfortable and clean. The food is great and the staff are fantastic. In writing reviews I always try to keep the review in line with what you have paid. I still think this place while showing its age is good value for money.

Who would expect crazy delicious pizza at a tiny beach hotel in Candidasa? This cute little spot is friendly and welcoming with simple but comfortable rooms that feature outdoor showers. The beach out front didn’t really invite hanging out (the tide comes all the way up to the seawall at night - at least it did when we were there) but the beautiful “Virgin Beach” is a 15 minute drive away. (Don’t try to walk- it’s really far, even if it seems close on the map.) We enjoyed visiting the area, especially the little village of Tenganan, where our guide Made showed us around and brought us into people’s homes to see the wood carvings (for sale) and the woven material. We also enjoyed agrotourism bee place on the way to the village. We saw the unusual beehives and tried the coffee. If they arrange a driver for you, make sure you get their usual guy, Kadek Muliarta, not the back-up driver, who turns around to talk to you while he’s driving and almost runs into a tree. Kadek is a great, safe driver who speaks really good English and is nice and helpful and friendly. We had both dinner and lunch at the hotel and both were delicious. The fish at dinner was divine. (Breakfast was good too.) We didn’t explore the town of Candidasa but it looked cute and I think they have live music sometimes at the bars.

Can't rate this place highly enough. We arrived in the dead of night to a cheerful night receptionist and our bags were taken to our bugalow. Bungalows are comfortable, clean and include Balinese art and an beautiful outdoor shower/bathroom. The staff are on-hand for everything you need. The meals were always tasty and available most of the day. Breakfast is included as a buffet plus a cooked option with multiple types of cooked egg. The pool area was great to lounge around all day on the massive sofas, swim and order drinks/snacks from the restaurant menu. All the staff greeted us when we saw them around the hotel. Getting a free massage as standard from the on site spa was a nice gesture. We even paid for a second session. We went to reception at least once a day to learn about Candidasa, book trips and get to know the staff. They weren't phased by anything, not even two earthquakes during our stay!

Located in Candidasa (pronounced Chan...) which is light years away from the hustle & bustle of Kuta. A beautiful resort with intimate bungalows just steps from the dinning room & pool overlooking the ocean. The staff are very professional, superbly managed and attend to your every need. The grounds are beautifully maintained and we even watched a man shimmy 50 feet up a palm tree to trim branches! Italian trained chef with wood fired pizza to complement traditional Balinese & Indonesian cuisine. We kicked back and relaxed on the giant Bali beds around the pool while watching the world sail past from the infinity pool. If your up for a little adventure there's plenty do in the area including one of only two original Balinese villages (pre Hindu) just up the road. Hire a driver at the office and explore as much or little as you wish. Mt. Agung, Bali's largest and most revered volcano is near buy and a spectacular site. Renowned Gangga Divers is located at the resort so if you want some beautiful diving adventures they are a one stop centre for instruction, nitrox, rebreather, night diving, wreck, they do it all. Outstanding management and operation with a real passion for diving, they have years of local experience and can answer all your questions.

Room tip: They're all great, if you want to sit on your room patio and watch the ocean or be nearer the pool then request one near the front.

In January 2018 I spent 2 weeks in Lotus Bungalow resort and I can really recomend it if you want a quiet and peaceful place. There is no tvs, there is no music by the pool or in the restaurant. I didn't miss it. We have the sound of the waves and the birds singing! This is the perfect music for me!

Bungalow: Not very big but with a beautiful terrace with 2 chairs and a table. The balinese style bathroom is partially in open air (no roof over the shower). It is beautiful but in the realiaty not very pratical. I was there during the rainy season, it rained almost every day. Some times I was under the shower and I had also the rain as a second shower. As the temperature in the evening is not so hot sometimes it was unconfortable to be under the rain. After the sunset I never had the light on in the bathroom to protect me from the mosquitos. It was a good idea! And there is always some light from outside.
Everything was very clean!

Restaurant: Very good food with local specialities and internacional ones.
Waitresses very friendly such as all the people who work there!

Reception:Thanks to Henriette and the reception staff I did two wonderful excursions.
One of them it was a trekking tour through the ricefields with a local guide named Toto. He speaks a very good english and he explained so many things about his country.

Spa: I did 2 excellent massages. It is worth it to try.

Don't miss the yoga class on friday!

Dive center: I did 16 dives with Gangga divers. They are so professional!
We cannot dive directly from the hotel. We leave at 8.00 am to do two dives and in 20 minutes we arrive at the beachfront area. The boats they have are really confortable with toilet and sun deck. Water on board, fruit and cake.
If the dive spots are far away the day before we order the lunch, which is included.
We must not carry the equipment, which is fantastic. They even prepare our bcds.
Each of the dive spots offered is completely different from the others.
The shipwreck Liberty and the Manta Point such as all the spots where I dove in Nusa Penida are a must.
Special thanks to all the crew specially to my buddy in almost all the dives GEDE. He was for me the soul from Gangga Divers.

I really enjoyed these peaceful holidays in Bali!
