We stayed in a spacious beautiful room with ensuite shower room. It had a balcony we could sit and enjoy the weather and views. Mark & Colin's service being everything we could possibley have wished for. The breakfasts were varied and lovely quality. Their assistance helped us to reach all the locations we wished to explore, plus some new idea's. The location is only a sort car journey from Cape town, not at all difficult. We would highly recommend staying here and we most definately will return. The pets made it feel homely to us.

Both Mark and Colin were very welcoming, friendly and attentive. The breakfast was delicious and their expertise of the surrounding area and beyond was invaluable.

I would certainly stay here again and recommend Vrede Manor to anyone.

We arrived at one o clock in the morning expecting Mark and Colin to be tucked up in bed on are arrival.....instead they were bright eyed and bushy tailed to make us feel extremely welcome. In the morning we could see the full delight of the manor. Lovely and clean, homely, terrific gardens and exceptional bedrooms making it feel like home.
The best greet was from Boris the dog. Big boy but also welcoming.
The Breakfast in the morning was very nice also setting our days up perfectly!

Mark and Colin are both English and clearly knew the sights to see and were very helpful in getting advice and extra information if we needed it.
The Manor is in an ideal location right next to the best Steak house in Cape.......Maestro's. My tip is to go for the 1kg of steak!!!! We had a car and found the surroundings and cape town central very safe and overall score the holiday 10/10. We couldn't thank Mark and Colin enough so thanks again!!

This was our first visit to Cape Town. We found Vrede Manor to be very well situated, on a quiet road in an area to the north of the city, the beach within easy walking distance, but above all, enjoying the classic view of Table Mountain. There was a selection of restaurants close by, but it was quick and easy to reach the Waterfront and city centre. Vrede Manor is a restored Cape Dutch house, elegantly furnished to the highest standards, with a large sitting room for guests' use. Our bedroom was spacious and comfortable with all mod cons. From its small balcony there was a glimpse of Table Mountain. The car was parked within the grounds, and there was an attractive garden. Hosts Colin and Mark were welcoming and knowledgeable, always willing to advise, and the breakfasts were exceptional.

We stayed here for 6 nights, and then returned after a trip to the Garden route for one night, using one of the the guest rooms in the main house and the self-catering apartment. Had a wonderful stay, and the hosts, Colin and Mark were perfect - always willing to guide us with recommendations for things to do and eating out, and they were always spot on. There are several good restaurants within walking distance, and also a big supermarket just 5 minutes walk away, which was very useful when we self-catered.

When we stayed in the main house breakfast was included in the rate, and it was excellent.

The guest house was in a very quiet location, yet very close to the beach and local amenities, and also a quick 15 minute drive to the centre of Cape Town. It is also close to a rapid bus transit stop to the city centre, which will be very useful once that system opens in a few months time. Overall, highly recommended.
