Wow Ile de Pain! what can I say.... it was great to be back after all these years. We were fortunate enough to enjoy a breakfast and lunch at this incredible restaurant. Breads of note and pastries are baked on the premises and are perfection! My 'green envy' breakfast of creamy scrambled eggs, pesto, parmesan and sourdough bread was something I can now only dream about! For lunch I gobbled up a hamburger which was probably the best I have ever eaten. People unashamedly stare into the plates of other diners as the food arrives. Everything is magnificently plated and just begs to be devoured. Also so special was that I finally got to meet the famous owner Liezie, such
a down to earth lovely lady with a gorgeous smile. Wish I was there now! ...

The food here is all wonderful, and consistently delicious regardless of what I order here. The baked goods are phenomenal and the atmosphere in the place is charming. The decor is stunning and the menu caters for pretty much any dietary requirement. The staff have all been working there for a long time, and the service is good, efficient and friendly. Try the thick traditional hot chocolate deluxe and the brilliant tomato relish.

This magnificent contemporary restaurant has everything going for it! They were super accommodating by allowing us to sit outside with our 4 month old Staffie and the staff were wonderful and friendly. The food was incredible and the pastries were out of this world! A must visit when in or passing through Knysna!

I'd read about this place in a couple of books but didn't realise they didn't open on Mondays so was pretty disappointed when we arrived to find them closed. Nevertheless I decided to return the following day and really glad that we did. Phenomenal bread and cakes, really cool setting and reasonable value. Get there early in the day though before they sell out of everything and note that they close at 3pm!
