Stumbled across this little cafe on the last day of our trip in South Africa. We were looking for somewhere to have a coffe that was a bit less crowded and touristy and spotted a couple of empty tables in a sunny corner just off the waterfront. We were greeted by a lovely lady called Tendai and we had a great coffee and conversation both with her her and the owner Chef Barney. Check it out for good food and experience a bit of old cafe charm. John and Marie.

We were recommended this small Restaurant by our host and were definitely amazed by its cuteness: great south african food, lovely hosts and a nice Seat in the backyard. We will definitely recommend it Further!

What a great place! The food was delicious, home cooked from scratch. Great atmosphere and really enjoyed chatting to the owner. He's only been open a few weeks... If you want a break from the chains and mass produced then pay him a visit. You get whatever he is cooking as the house dish if you are there for dinner but there is a breakfast, lunch, snack menu during the day.

De Voorskooten is totally a new experience from the old. It has changed owners and is now De Voorskooten Cafe. The whole ambience is much more friendlier and more inviting. Barney is the new owner and is dedicated to make a success of his business. During the day, breakfasts, light meals, beverages and home made cakes is served. De Vorskooten is also open at night for real traditional food at affordable prices. Really worth a visit.
