This was the perfect base for our four night stay in Capetown after a long flight from Lomdon. It was central for all the main attractions as well as the vibrant scene around Long Street offering a great choice of restauatants and bars. The staff were very attentive and polite and the breakfast selection was really first class. The only downside was the size of the room which was a bit on the small side. Even this would have been bearable had the air conditioning worked efficiently. Apart from that we would give this hotel five stars. We would still recommend this as a great introduction to South Africa.

Room Tip: Request an upgrade from the standard room

Stayed here for 3 nights. Fantastic hotel but would recommend you go for a luxury room with balcony as the standard rooms are a bit small and dark. Stayed in a room at the front of the hotel with balcony, lovely room. Cooked to order eggs for breakfast were excellent. Parking can be scarce as it is quite a central location but we never had any problems. Beautiful period building and we were looked after impeccably. Wife is expecting and got a non alcoholic bottle of fizz and roses on her birthday very thoughtful and a really nice gesture. Special thanks to Chris for generally looking after us and being a lovely man to greet us every time we got back to the hotel! Hopefully get to stay here again on our next visit to Cape Town. Thank you

We arrived after a very long flight and received a wonderful welcome and refreshing drink. Lots of helpful info given about trips and restaurants. We stayed in room 15 in the annex, lovely big room with a view of Table Mountain
Breakfast was very good with hot dishes cooked to order. Each evening there was sherry and port and nibbles which were complimentary and an honesty bar. Staff very helpful including buying stamps, checking on table mountain tickets and getting restaurant reservations

We really enjoyed our 6nt stay here on our first time to Cape Town.
Friendly staff helpful with queries and everything ok with the room although a number of times we did have to remind them that the tea/coffee/mik etc had not been replenished. We had deluxe room 4, at the back, access is by some steep steps, adequate size room but large 2 basin bathroom and its own small patio amongst the rooftops of adjacent buildings from which we spent much time sipping wine and admiring the (partial) views of Table Mountain in the morning and the starry skies at night.
Particularly found the lounge area and the evening complimentary drinks and snacks fun to meet other guests and have some socialising.
The location was perfect to sample the differing neighbourhoods by public transport and for driving back with our hire car for the latter part of our time. Plenty of top regarded restaurants within walking distance too.

Room Tip: deluxe room 4, at the back, access is by some steep steps, adequate size room but large 2 basin bathroom,, own small patio

We stayed at The Cape Cadogan for four nights and, for us, what made a very good hotel excellent was the staff. Special thanks to Amber on reception for organising everything we asked for and some things we didn't even think to ask for! Nothing was too much trouble and she was very knowledgeable about Cape Town and good places to go.

The selection for breakfast is excellent, the hotel is decorated beautifully with attention to detail.

The only slight downsides were that the wifi came and went, and our room (number 5) was quite small, but the bed was big and comfortable and the air conditioning was efficient.

All in all a well recommended hotel!
