This is a great hotel right on the waterfront so within very easy strolling distance to all the attractions of the restaurant. Location absolutely perfect. Hotel has no pool, garden etc. but residents can use the facilities at a nearby hotel but although just the start of summer it was not really the weather for a pool. Our room (2nd floor Piazza view) was very nice , roomy, and couldn't fault it at all. Didn't need to spend extra for a mountain view as seen every day at breakfast etc. Breakfast was superb with a vast selection of "continental breakfast" items plus a wide range of hot food available. We also had a dinner their restaurant which was really good and good value although selections a bit limited. Staff excellent and keen to help with arranging trips if needed. If returning we would certainly stay here again.

Room Tip: We had a 2nd floor piazza view room - lovely room, quiet.

Enjoyable time in Cape Town. The hotel is beautifully appointed and rooms are magnificent. Ideal location for Sevens and V&A shopping!

Annoying on check-out to receive a “voluntary” R10 donation on the tab towards “an African charity”. Moral blackmailing and simply not on!!

This super hotel lies right in the waterfront area. Make sure you get a mountain view room. The rooms are luxurious and spacious. Breakfast is a real treat, also with a view of the mountain. The staff couldn’t be more helpful. A wonderful place for a short stay.

Fantastic location, great breakfast. Lovely staff, large, clean rooms.

This hotel is located where you want to be, in the middle of the buzzing waterfront but silent in your room.

At breakfast ask to sit outside which will give you a view of the harbour, we saw playful Seals every morning.

One negative with a mention is the shower was not thermostatic, hot-cool-warm-hot-cold-warm this was quite annoying as showers should be kept to a minimum due to the water shortages currently (November 2017)

This small issue would not stop us staying at this hotel again.

I’d highly recommend you take the Hop-on-Hop-off bus tour whist in Cape Town. The terminal/booking office is a 2 minute walk from the V&A Hotel, There are 4 routes that go to all the best tourist destinations including Wineries, Table Mountain, Camps bay, Hout Bay and many more (R200 1 day, R300 two days)

Wonderfully located with “everything” right on your doorstep. The room was fantastic with an amazing view towards Table Mountain. The breakfast was superb. The only minus was the shower which switched between scalding hot to ice old every other minute... not what you expect from an otherwise great hotel. Friendly and helpful staff. But they did seem a bit confused about who was staying where as we were told we had changed rooms, which we hadn’t, and had somebody else’s pizza left in our room - a minor detail. Would happily stay here again despite the shower being temperamental.
