Location is good, room space either. We did not realize there was no wifi at disposal until we arrived there (it is available if you want to purchase plans, but not included on the fare). Be aware that wall sockets are non-compatible even with those big multi-pattern adapters (3 big holes in triangle) – at reception they could lend one adapter but it may affect your plans if you like to use many gadgets. Reception itself was an almost huge problem for us because we found out that it closes at 3 PM, and the could have lost the check-in with no warnings (we arrived from the airport just a few minutes before 3PM).

Please would you be so kind as to specify in which apartment you stayed, as the apartments are independently owned by various companies and/or individuals?

These apartments have an excellent location, but that is it on the upside. Booking in was not good. The lady on duty does not normally work there & had keys & a form to fill in. We were given twin beds on the 4th floor, when we asked for double bed higher up. She could not get hold of the owner/manager & gave us an apartment on 1st floor with double bed, after we insisted & waited 30 minutes. The interior is dated, everything from the curtains to the furniture is of poor quality. The 1st floor was noisy.

Room Tip: Don't stay here, unless you on a low budget.

We stayed for two nights due to a short notice visit and the unavailability of other hotels in Cape Town. We found the accommodation and interior design rather dull and dated. Nevertheless, for the money you pay, you get safe and well-located accommodation as it is within walking distance from the V&A Waterfront shopping centre. Parking for own vehicles is also well lit and safe. Several good options for dining are close by. All the basic utensils are available and the fridge worked well. I would recommend it as a self-catering option for families with a limited budget and shorter stays.

Room Tip: Ask for a room higher up in the building which would increase your chances of a better view and less noise.

Whilst on 1st appearances the apartment looked great, I was very disappointed in that no DSTV, the bathroom was dirty,(under the soap dish had not been cleaned in a long time) the kitchen cupboards needed some attention inside, not very clean. Unit 505 is situated next to the lifts and the ping ping of the lifts stopping on the various floors. the beds were extremely uncomfortable

We stayed at the Cascades Holiday Apartments from the 23 February to the 27th February 2013 and had a horrible experience. The apartment was extremely dirty and not well maintained at all. There were dirty marks on the walls, the stove top is all damaged and not in good condtion. The bathroom had tiles missing and looks shabby not to mention the shower curtain was all torn and old. The linen on the bed was really bad. The towels in the bathroom were greyish instead of white with stains on them. The sheet on the mattress did not fit the mattress and covered only the top of the mattress leaving the sides of the mattress totally exposed. The general quality of the linen was just terrible. The lounge furnature had dirty black marks on it and the carpet in the lounge area was all stained with large black marks and was generally dirty. For a rate of R650 a day and in light of the above mentioned i really do feel that it was not up to any basic accommodation standard and I would certainly not recommend this establishment as it is not well maintained at all !!
