Comfortable bed and spacious room with everything you need in a 5 star hotel. Even the tissues smelled nicely. Stopped the car in front of the entrance and the hotel care of parking. As always 'n great experience

We spent 9 nights at Taj Cape Town. We found the hotel to be beautifully decorated, comfortable and large rooms, excellent restaurants and very friendly and caring staff. We stayed at the Club, where the two butlers Terence and Innocent, assisted by the waiters Luzuku and Nonzame, looked after us. Their friendlyness and service minds were just outstanding! As a goodbye gift to us, they even gave us a surprise champagne treat in our room, the evening before we left.

Needless to say, we would love to come back. And the hotel is highly recommended!

We visited Cape Town to celebrate my mother's birthday, and I selected this hotel based on reviews. Our rate included complimentary pick-up from the airport, breakfast for two daily, and access to the Taj Club Lounge.

The hotel is in a great location within walking distance to the Bo Kaap area, Greenmarket Square, and Company Garden. It's approximately a 10 minute car ride from the V & A Waterfront.

The Good:
Beautiful views of Table mountain from rooms on the higher floor in the tower wing.
Walking distance to Company Garden, Greenmarket Square, and Bo Kaap.
Complimentary shuttle to the V&A Waterfront (10 mins drive).
Good facial and massage treatments at the Jiva Spa
Staff: Papy (Manager), Felicia (Mint restaurant staff), Xolani and Musa (Chauffers), Jeremy (Front Desk), Terrence (Taj Club).
Complimentary WiFi

Needs Improvement:
Housekeeping. I had to repeatedly call for the same request, and they never stocked enough supplies for a double-occupancy room. Why leave one wash cloth when there are two people in the room?
Turn-Down service. Most hotels, especially those deemed as luxury, leave a sweet treat or something behind.
Breakfast. If you're staying for longer than 3 days, the selection becomes mundane.
Taj Club. The drink selection is good but the afternoon canapes leaves much to be desired. Include a wider variety of warm and cold items.
In-Room amenities. Every room should have a microwave and honey for tea. We stayed in 905 (street view) for one night due to an error. This room had a microwave but our correct room did not have one.

Overall, it was a good stay and we had a wonderful time in Cape Town. Thank you Papy for rectifying the situation that occurred. The hotel needs more staff members like you and those I mentioned.

Room tip: Room 1009 has excellent views of Table Mountain

We arrived early in the morning after our 11h overnight flight and the very friendly staff led us to the executive lounge where we enjoy some refreshments. The Taj offers early-check-in at no extra cost so we could relax some time in our spacious room while the children explored the pool area.
Later we were driven to the waterfront and when coming back we had room service with excellent, Indish-style food.
After an exquisite breakfast we had to leave to the airport for our flight to Port Elizabeth. But we will come back...

We visited Cape Town for our anniversary and selected the Taj for our stay. And we were not disappointed, fantastic staff, fabulous views of Table mountain, wonderful breakfast. The hotel could not do enough for us, we could not fault it. It is away from the waterfront which was perfect for us as the hurdy-gurdy of the waterfront can become boring very quickly They made our visit so special, we are planning to go back again next year.
