After three weeks travelling to Zimbabwe, Namibia and Botswana on safari, Cape Town was our final stop before our return to Australia. We probably could not have been recommended a better stay than at More Quarters.

It is situated away from the V & A Waterfront area and seems to be in an area where “non-tourists” live and stay. The accomodation is of a very high standard and the apartment fully equipped for self sufficiency. There are many shops, supermarkets and bottle shops on Kloof Street if you want to be self sufficient, but also there are many good restaurants as well. Breakfast at the hotel is very good with a great choice of continental and cooked foods available.

The staff at More Quarters were all friendly, helpful and efficient. The courtesy pick-up and drop-off service is great, but do book in advance if you need to be somewhere at a specific time.

The “take-away” delivery motorbikes waiting for the restaurants, congregate on Nicol Street and are a bit noisey from late afternoon until approximately 9:30, but this hardly affected us and will only be a problem if your accomodation fronts onto Nicol Street and you want an early night.

This hotel was more like an apartment complex so if you were staying for a long stay with more then two people it would be great. The front disk staff were wonderful, and would give you directions to places. If you wanted to go down to the waterfront they would take you and pick you up. This was a 2 bedroom 2 bath flat with a large living area and a kitchen area. Every thing was clean and neat and a quiet sleep had by all. There is no elevator but the staff will help you bring your bags down. The breakfast was great, and in the evening they had wine, sherry and port out.

We spent 2 nights at the More Quarters hotel at the end of October – a “bonus” for having done a safari with the More Madikwe Safari Lodge the three nights before. We were in a second floor one-bedroom apartment in an older building, which was completely renovated and came with a small, pleasant balcony. The hotel is located on a quiet street in the Gardens district, close to many restaurants and pubs.

Everything was excellent. The apartment was beautiful and came with a fully equipped kitchen and a bathroom with high-quality soaps, shampoos, etc. The More set of hotels seems to really excel in terms of the quality of services. They had an excellent included breakfast (buffet and a la carte) in a real nice dining room, and apparently had tea (with cookies…) in the late afternoon, and some drinks and snacks afterwards. A small shuttle van was available free for trips up to 6 km – enough to get to downtown or to the base of the aerial lift to Table Mountain. While staying at the hotel is not inexpensive, you really get what you pay for – we’d gladly return. (One suggestion though for the hotel – it would be nice to have some low-light reading lamps beside the bed, so that one person can read while the other sleeps.)

We stayed here 2 nights at the beginning of our African travels. It is a very nice apartment consisting of a small living room area, a kitchen and a bedroom. The served breakfast in the morning which was very good. There are a lot of restaurants within walking distance. I would stay here again if I was back in Capetown.

Just left after a delightful four days. Spacious apartment, great location and very helpful staff. Thanks for a great stay! We particularly enjoyed our tour of the Cape Peninsula through the hotel and will certainlyreturn one day.
