I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food here, we hadn’t planned as such and they were kind enough to give us a table despite no booking. The chocolate nemesis is to die for! I would fly back just for that!

This place was around the corner from our hotel and definitely worth while. Big portions of attractively presented food and friendly waiters/waitresses. Great value for money and very affordable wine by the glass

We spent New Year’s Eve dinner at Societi. I was there with 3 of my friends. We were extremely disappointed with every meal that we had. The mushroom risotto was dry, the lamb pasta was dry with no sauce and the prawn linguine was dry with fresh cut up tomatoes. The waitress, who was amazing, explained that the manager will come and talk to us, but they passed the buck to the chef, which was extremely rude He was extremely embarrassed and he embarrassed us. The chef never apologised, and kept making excuses and telling us that it’s our interpretation of Italian food. One of the friends is Italian, and this was NOT an Italian meal. Utterly disappointed. We will never be back. The fact that the manager never came and spoke to us put a very sour taste in our mouth.

It was New Years Eve and we went to Tigers Milk. Believe it or not it started to rain and as the Tables inside were full we were forced to leave. As the Society Bistro was on our walk home we decided to try it. We have tried before but it is impossible to get in as it is always fully booked. Fortunately being News Eve we were given a Table provided we agreed to leave in 1.5 hours as it was booked later
We decided to share a Stater and a Second Course and have two Main Courses
Starter
Seth Sithembele Shezi 78
Monkfish, honey, togarashi, pak choi, sesame, lemongrass

We did not get the unique flavor of the Monk fish and queried whether is was actually Monk
Altogether a very disappointing start. (2/10)

Second Course
Kamil’s Spaghetti 126
trout, vodka cream, zucchini
The Spaghetti was under cooked (this is in spite of their promise to cook spaghetti beyond al dente) and the flavors promised absent. It was little more than raw spaghetti.
We had one mouthful each
We paid or our meal in full although they offered to take the meals off
We decided to leave the restaurant and not risk further disappointment

Our guide brought us here for lunch and we are glad he did. Great food and service. In particular we loved the mushroom risotto and the seafood special. Service was great and the home baked bread was a lovely touch.
