I know that I have reviewed this lodge a few times but every time I stay here it is like fertiliser for the soul. I cannot fault anything with Hannah lodge, the rooms, the staff, the food and just all round welcoming atmosphere is 5 star quality. Whether it be family, tourist, romantic getaway or business stay, this is a place not to miss. A real hidden gem in the bush.

The Lodges is situated in the centre of all the attractions worth a day trip to the Blyde River Canyon and its gold rush history of the 1800’s, “ GOD’S Window, every turn offers more, more impressive views sheer edges dropping. .I highly recommend this place, it's right , this LODGE was the best experience of our two week stay in SA. Vast open lobby, cool drinks on arrival, pleasant staff and good sized bedrooms which were cleaned very well. Dug into the dinner buffet on three occasions and was very satisfied with the variety and quality of the fare. Best of all the viewing area where one can watch an astonishing variety of animal life passing by while indulging in a spa treatment. Quickly and efficiently by friendly staff. We will be back soon.

Room Tip: Rooms very clean and the food the best

Unfortunately we only stayed here for 1 night en route to Kruger - but had our first animal spotting right after entering the gate. The lodge is situated on a hill so you get great views on the surrounding area. In the main building at the dining hall/bar area you can find a terrace that overlooks the land down and you can see animals if you are lucky - so relaxing having a drink or breakfast there. Dinner we had outdoor that night as a BBQ and we could try some nice game meat. Rooms are rustic but with nice Interiors and funny zebra curtains. A great place that is definitely good for staying longer than just a night!

If you drive through the gate later than 17:45 a lot of animals greet you next to the road. The lodge is big and beautiful and is above a hill. Your room has a big window were you can see sun rise and sun set. The bathroom is very luxurious with double sink, a bath and a very good shower. We even had a separate tv room (which we not needed). If you wake up very early about 05:45 and you walk a little down the road you see red and yellow birds. If you watch good to the surroundings you see giraffes, impalas etc. If you have breakfast outside at the terrace you also see the animals. A beautiful moment to wake up and confirms that you are really in South Africa. Dinner is very good and I also recommend the white house wine. The staff is extremly friendly. Overall it was really worth it. I really recommend this place. You will not regret. It brings a smile on your face.
