We cannot recommend Kambaku River Lodge highly enough. We enjoyed five blissful days here before embarking on a scheduled safari around private game reserves in the Kruger National Park.
Beautifully furnished comfortable rooms, large and airy offering superb views without even stirring from your bed. A small but well equipped kitchen at the rear of the room should you wish to make anything other than a cup of tea (all tea/coffee supplies etc provided) is lovely, as is a daily bucket of ice. Breakfast and dinner are cooked to order and are served on your private patio, dinner enhanced by the lighting of a fire pit, to keep away any evening chills and create a special atmosphere. Meals are excellent, but normally a set daily menu. You would need to notify of any special dietary requirements. Quality and presentation is superb.
Elvis is on hand to offer a trip animal viewing into the Kruger. An early start (5am) is essential to sea large game before the heat of the day kicks in. A packed breakfast is included, although the Kruger has a couple of restaurant stops with decent food, good coffee and proper loos.
Thank you Leanne and your excellent staff for looking after us so well. This is by far the nicest lodge we have ever stayed in, the hard work by each and every member of your team didn’t go unnoticed. We would dearly love to return.More
