First impressions are so important, and the Islander RV Resort stands up to the test very well. The multiple lanes for check-in made it easy, and the staff made it a pleasure. The only draw back for some might be that there was no guide to lead you to your site, but it was very easy to find it after the staff gave excellent directions.
We choose to reserve a premium drive-in waterfront site (468) and it was well worth the additional cost. It was a nice wide lot with exceptional views of both the lake and the surrounding mountains. Both of our dogs enjoyed the short walk down to the waterfront and the walking paths along the shore.
For most of our short stay, just 3 nights, before the Labor Day long weekend, we had the whole lakefront section pretty much to ourselves. Of course this made it extra quiet and relaxing. The sounds of the boats and water craft as they cruised out into the lake was a welcome sound as it meant many people were on their way to enjoy a day on the water.
The amenities were all very clean and well kept. The pool was great to take a welcome dip during the heat of the day. The views of the lake itself and the mountains from the pool was a well appreciated addition to the waters of the pool. The restroom/shower/change rooms were very clean and well maintained. The grounds were all clean and well looked after.
The central location of the resort made it easy to get to the many attractions that are so close at hand. Of course I would blame anyone for just hanging out at their site and enjoying the resort and its surrounding beauty.
The staff, to a person, was extremely friendly and helpful. Take the time to say hello and give a warm smile, and these common courtesies will be returned to you ten times over as the staff will go out of their way to be friendly and helpful.
Did I mention the beautiful night sky filled with stars and the milky way, and not the obtrusive city lights? If not, be sure to take the time to look up in awe as a sky will be filled with so many stars and the glow of the milky way.
Enjoy yourself as this fine resort.
