We booked one night through the SAN Parks website and paid R290.00 for the two of us.

Our campsite only had a BBQ stand, nothing else!

Bathrooms were really well done and kept clean throughout the day.

Elephants galore seen getting here. Watch out for the baboon. Rooms are dated, but cozy. Kitchen set up for full use. Restaurant onsite, very reasonable. Shop for anything you may need. Very little information on the night drives, much less for morning drives. Parking is a pain. The people at the petrol station we're awesome. After a long day of driving we get in and our tire goes flat. The last there found someone to help us. They changed the tire and even repaired the flat. I asked how much and was told oh how about 50 Rand. Crazy.... That's $4.00. we have him ALOT more for his troubles.

Had a wonderful relaxing stay at the Punda Maria Camp. Had a meal at the restaurant which was above par.
The game-viewing was difficult due to the amount of water that recent rains had provided but the visit to the Pafuri region certainly was a highlight. Unlike the south of Kruger traffic was sparse.

Just returned from 5 days in the Kruger, great experience. Seeing lions on the move on a night drive definitely the highlight. However, it was somewhat spoilt by accommodation at 2 camps. Punda Maria is sadly dated and is in real need of a significant upgrade. The accommodation is dark and not at all worth the money charged when compared to Mopani or Skukuza

Room Tip: Rooms are very dark

This was an unscheduled and last minute stay over being completely unable to find an Agency booked accommodation outside the Park. In a way we were pleased this happened. This is a more 'old fashioned' style of Kruger Lodge but none the worse for that. It was severe drought which affected the wild life viewing - although never extensive in the north of the park and the river beds were dry - we were amused to see flood level recordings set on the Limpopo of a couple of years ago..

We had a slow but friendly reception and then began to wilt under the paperwork! but we were finally accommodated. Although a bit historical the room was a medium sized, reasonably styled and fitted out including a fridge. The shower facility was ok. It was clean, comfortable and air conditioned but no Wi-Fi. The staff had a ready smile.

The shop was small and not well stocked and with staff more interested in talking to themselves which seemed preferable to serving customers.

Pleasant enough stay
