This hotel is just outside of hectic Durban. The front of the Hotel was very appealing when we arrived. Inside was lovely. A sitting room, front desk just the old days. Great food and excellent service !!

I felt so at home. The staff working tbere has been tjere for hears and this is always a sign of excellent management and ownership respecting their staff. The breakfast was delicious and the beds and pillows sleeps like a dream. I will choose this hotel for future visits as it is also centrally located with easy access to the city and to highways for visits to the northern part of Durban such as Umhlanga.

We stayed for one night at the Benjamin on our way through Durban but had a lovely stay. We arrived early in the morning after a drive back from the Drakensberg. We were there well before check in time but they let us go to their buffet breakfast and then got us into our room quite quickly anyway. The room we had was very comfortable and spacious. The staff was very kind to us and able to answer any questions that we had. The hotel is in a great location on Florida Rd right near a lot of the good restaurants and bars. We felt quite safe walking along here even at night. The morning breakfast was delicious. We also enjoyed relaxing in the courtyard area in the middle of the hotel. I would definitely recommend staying at this hotel in Durban.

This was one of our hotels on our Travel Bag 16 Grand Tour of South Africa arranged by local agents Ilios.

The location is right in the heart of it so be prepared for the music and crowd noise from across the way bars which bangs on until early hours.

You can walk up and down the street for various places to eat and drink, mind you its a very young and busy street with a few clubs nearby (strip clubs the owner lady said)

The rooms were a little cold but a heater was provided.

The service was good and the rooms acceptable and clean.

Good Day
Thank-you for your review of The Benjamin. While the noise in the street is completely out of our control, be assured that we work closely with authorities within the Morningside area to try and curb this. We do have rooms facing the pool which offer a more peaceful experience.

Thank-you.

This is a truly stunning place to stay.

We were greeted warmly upon arrival, and shown to our room which was just beautiful. The decor is immaculate throughout the building and the rooms are to a very high standard.
Our room was at the back of the building, overlooking the pool, so we found this to be nice and quiet.

The Benjamin is in the Morningside district of Durban and is centrally placed on Florida Road, among a good variety of bars and restaurants.
Parking is available at the back of the property, via an access gate; we were able to park in one of the garages as the property wasn't that busy when we stayed.

We had a very early flight the next morning, but were able to grab breakfast before we left which was good, albeit a little rushed

We sadly only had one night here; I would definitely stay here again.
