Just dined there with friends, great food and good ambiance.
We had 5 of the tasting dishes , all were good. We also tried the chicken curry and lemon grass chicken with noodles which were bith good. Prices are reasonable, just a shame the place is not byo, as it is just a suburban eatery.

We had high hopes for Madam Viet, however, we were left feeling disappointed. We opted for the 6pm sitting on a Saturday night. Ordered 4 dishes from the tapas menu. Vege spring rolls were ok but the lettuce cups served with them were dripping wet. Great to see the lettuce had been washed, but we didn't expect to have to drain the lettuce prior to eating. This was served with mint, as opposed to the advertised Vietnamese mint, and this detracted from the taste. Crispy barramundi and rare beef salad were nice. Salt and pepper calamari over cooked, tough and chewy.

Unfortunately, the "special" - squid tubes was the worst part of the meal. Squid was over cooked and tough. Very difficult to chew and swallow. This was the worst squid we have ever had.

The nail in the coffin was hearing the guy behind the bar explain very loudly to some of the wait staff about 'getting rid of' the 6pm sitting, to make way for the 7.45pm sitting. We found this to be very rude and unprofessional....

Disappointing. We won't be back.

Dishes chosen were tasty. The chicken with lemongrass and papaya salad was outstanding. Beef spare ribs delicious. Salt and pepper squid needs work.

More serving spoons are needed plus a change of plates after some courses otherwise the tastes are distorted with sauces from previous dishes.

If you fancy a Vietnamese meal I can highly recommend this very good restaurant, close to the beach, about a ten minutes walk you share courses should you wish at a set price of only A $65.00 For two at dinner and A$55.00 for two persons at lunch. Excellent value and very good and friendly Service.
