Datca is one of the best areas of Turkey, maybe even the best. Here you still find virgin beaches, amazing clear water, authentic Turkish villages and local tourists. Local tourism is well developed on the peninsula and there are plenty of excellent, authentic restaurants. When it comes to hotels there are not many choices in the upper categories. Mehmet Ali Aga Mansion is a gem, hidden in the hills with a wonderful climate, but not far away from the beaches. This place is a peaceful oasis of luxury near enough to the busy city of Datca to go there for dinner, but far away enough to enjoy the sounds of nature. No expense was spared to restore this boutique hotel which used to be a medieval mansion. Each room is different and there are a few outstanding rooms in the main building. The management as well as all employees are very welcoming, friendly and helpful.

Everything about this hotel is delightful...wonderful service, gorgeous rooms, a beautiful, quaint village, fabulous food. You can spend all day just soaking in the flowers and garden scenery. All the rooms are beautiful, sumptuous, well-appointed and roomy. We were on a fabulous Backroads Bike Trip, so transportation was easy, and the biking was great (another review.) It is difficult for me to comment on value because costs were wrapped into our Backroads Tour package. So my value rating is conjectural. Stay here for a relaxing and environment-absorbing stay and you won't be disappointed. Don't be looking for hot nightlife and all-night bars. You're on the wrong track if that's what you are looking for at this hotel. This is a hotel to relax in, take walks and be romantic.

We found cockroaches in the room and no staff assistance and kindness. Most of staff is no english speaking. Most of old commun rooms were closed or used as warehouse. No wifi in the room. Breakfast was poor on quality and selection. No staff at bar and pool. We had a feeling that the mansion was abandoned and keep only basic services.
